OK. First post was in the WRONG spot and I can only blame my cat for that...
I'm a Reserve Coastie, PO1, assigned to a PSU. AT/FP, filling a Corpsman's slot. I'm lurking in the Medics section to pick up tips.
Again, apologies for posting in the wrong lane.
Mea Culpa...
Do not blame your cat for your short falls. Be an adult and just say I messed up and move on. Now you are going to catch a lot of SHIT for such a lame post.
This is not my space or military dot com so read, search and read more like the intro e-mail said and you may survive. Go and do pushups and read all the stickies.....

I just wanted to drop a line and introduce myself. I'm in 4th BN 5th SFG(A) it FT Campbell. I'm a support guy and have been in Group for a little over 4 years. It has been a great honor serving in this great organization. I hope to learn alot here, you guys are a wealth of information.
Welcome, Telecustom, and thank you for your service. You are definitely working for a great organization. And say hello to your BN CSM for me (he will know my call sign). He and I have stomped a lot of the same ground over the years.

I am a 34 year old husband and father of a 4 month old girl. As a day job I work as an attorney in Washington DC. I have no military service. I spent a brief stint at VHA headquarters in Washington. I registered to use the search feature and I'm content to be neither seen or heard from, but gain knowledge from the professionals on the forum.

Welcome counsel.
I'm a 23 year old law student. I'm determined to take an 18x slot post-graduation. Like Muncaster, I registered to use the search function so I can explore the wealth of knowledge available on this site.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and I enjoy running, hiking and camping. I qualified for the Boston Marathon a few weeks ago, so I'll be running that in April. I read voraciously. Right now, I'm reading Montaigne's "Essays," "Inventing Leonardo" (a historical da Vinci biography), "Complete Poems" of DH Lawrence, and "Get Selected! for Special Forces" by Warrior-Mentor. I'm also teaching myself Arabic.
I am 22, currently living in Houston, TX. Just got back from two years in Brazil. Found this site after reading "Get Selected" by Warrior Mentor. I am already talking to the recruiter and will go 18X with, as the name says, 18B is my first goal.

We don't toss MOSes (or SF) around till we have earned it. So far, you have done nothing to gain it.
What would you like your new name to be?

I am 22 years old, and I live in Baltimore, MD. I am interested in joining the Guard here in Maryland. I'm not quite sure how to go about it because I would like to serve in the 20th SFG out of Glen Arm, but I'm not sure if I should just go with 11B then tryout for them, or if i should sign as 18B. I'm not quite sure how the Guard works it, which is why I'm here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I am a Health Services Maintenance Warrant and am stationed at Fort Bragg. I have chosen to join this forum as during my last deployment, Iraq 04-05, I supported some of the SF community. I will be returning soon and figure that I will be once again supporting all of the military medical community including those from the SF community. I would like to know from the 18D and any of the others what the medical maintenance needs are out there.
Plus as a recreational diver I would like to meet up with any one who wants to dive in the Fayetteville area.

For many years I was a “wanna be”. I watched all the movies and read all the books.
Two years ago a change in my life introduced me to a number of people who turned into real friends, and the one common thread they shared was they were all either currently serving or ex-military. Spending time with these folks gave a first person view into the world I had wanted to be a part of when I was a much younger man. Each and every encounter with them seemed to enrich me, and make me look at how I could be a better person. On the range, on the trail or just chatting over beers, they were always willing to share their knowledge, knowledge they had gained while serving. It also awakened my urge to join up, which I hadn't felt since I decided not to back in my early 20's (due to some poor advice).
My exposure to these new friends opened my eyes to the many benefits one reaps in service. I wanted to be more like these folks, to carry myself the way they carried themselves, to have the same presence they had. To be able to give back the way they did, and do, everyday.
So I decided to stop being a “wanna be”.
Just over a year ago I joined the Canadian Army Reserves in the Queens Own Rifles of Canada Regiment (QOR). A few of my friends wear the Maroon Beret and that inspired me to go Para as well.
While I am too old for an application to JTF2 (one of the top Canadian SF groups) and that level of SF lifestyle is beyond me now, my plan is to apply to CSOR (Canadian Special Operations Regiment) after completing my Para course, and attempt to qualify for my Tan Beret.
The transition from full time IT to full time military this late in life (I just turned 39 today) has it's challenges. Physically, mentally and financially I have a long way to go, but at least now, I know I am headed in the right direction. That feeling, deep in my gut and in my heart, is something I never got from my current vocation.
I joined these boards both for inspiration and for the unique knowledge that can only be offered by Quiet Professionals. Thanks to all who run it and contribute.

Greetings all,
I'm currently on active duty as an OPS NCO at FT Bliss in the National Guard liaison office. I'm a Guard infantryman with service in Afghanistan (05-06). While there I was an Embedded Trainer with an Afghan Recon company who did journeyman service with TF 3-1 of 3rd Group and CANSOF as well as other American and Canadian units in the Khandahar/Helmand/Oruzgan area. I'm not SF but I respect them and keep up with the latest to make me a better PSG in my home Scout PLT.
I learned a lot of new ways of doing things both "In" and "Outside" the system that have served me well since my tour and want to keep learning. That's me in a nutshell and why I'm here. Feel free to contact me whenever you have a question or to tell me I'm full of S***. (I'm a big boy, I can take the hit if I'm wrong)

SD I'm a life time SF guy with a couple of tours outside SF. Once as a combat engineer Squad ldr ,and years later as a Platoon SGt with A Mech Combat Engineer co. (one year there) I really enjoyed both tours and learned much. I was a very different PltSgt because I never left SF in my mindset. I would be glad to talk about anything you wish in that arena. Gentlemen,
I've been in the guard for about 4 years, the last 3 as an O. I just finished up as a PL in a rifle co and was recently accepted to the training team, 2/19 SFG with the WV guard. Glad to have this site and the individuals on it as another tool to help me through the journey.

Hello all,
My name is Josh and I have been reading on this forum for nearly a year and a half. I just recently graduated Infantry OSUT in august. I am a cadet at Sam Houston State University and I plan to branch Infantry. I drill with a Guard unit here in Huntsville, TX with a STB and I am currently in the process of transferring to an Infantry unit in Palestine, TX. I am here to learn.
To our soldiers in theater: Godspeed.
Hey,
Im Heath from New Zealand, been researching about information on Steel and came across your site, look forward to listening and learning all I can.
Cheers,

My name is Joseph, I'm a Veteran Aviation Ordnanceman of the United States Navy. I did two years of duty onboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) and two years onbaord the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) 03-07. I spent a year outside the military in the civilian world..."Didn't care for it." I decided to follow my fathers footsteps and join the Army as an Infantryman, but when I got to the mep's station there wasn't any 11x MOS positions open. I did qualify for the 18x MOS program and jumped all over it. I'm a well diciplined 23yr old man, and I'm looking forward to shipping out to Fort Sill on DEC 30, 2008 for the Warrior Transition Course, then it's off to Advanced Infantry School and so on...I would like to thank all the Quiet Professionals for making this site possible, the amount of information I gained in a few hours is incredible.
Thanks!!!
And MayGod Bless You All!!!

Just thought I'd reintroduce myself since I haven't been on here for a while. I've been in for a couple years now. I am originally from Indiana. I am a S2 clerk/intel analyst at BN level. Just spent a year in Korea and now back in the States down in GA.
Hey, my name is Corey. I found this site from a friend of my father who is in 3rd group. Myself, I will be leaving January 22 for Benning under an 18x contract. I have already learned quite a lot from here and hope to continue to do so.
Hello all,
My name is Mike, I'm an 18x-ray starting the Q-course. I'm just trying to always put my best foot forward, which is why im joining this site. I like to learn and educate myself as much as I can. Allow me to introduce myself, I have served this nation in two wars and over twenty-three years, in the Regular Army. In most positions from Private to Battalion Executive Officer of a Combined Arms Task Force in Iraq. After being diagnosis ed with Agent Orange I was side tracked to my last assignment as Deputy Commander CEGE. In Retirement, my last fifteen years has been as the Senior Army Instructor in a High School. Cadet Command instructed all instructors to get an AKO account, where I met some old SF friends. They suggested I might just find some old SF buddies from a bygone era here. I also was told to put a lot of info here and in my bio which I took straight from my DD 214. I sincerely hope this suffices.

No Problem, Out for College (4 years) not 7 though. Vietnam was 1971, Desert Shield/Storm was 1990-1991 that would be more like 20 years not 30 years.

I am a 2LT attending Law School at the University of Maryland. I am also in a Civil Affairs Reserve unit. Upon Completion of Law School in 2010, I will be an AD JAG officer. I hope to one day be assigned as a Lawyer to SOCOM, however will be honored to serve in any capacity and with any unit. I was also born in India and have language and cultural expereience from that which i would also like to use in my Military service. This site has been a great asset, and I look forward to learning more from the breath of experience here. Also I would like to thank all the vets/ current Soldiers, it is only because of your sacrafice that i as an immigrant am able to enjoy all the benefits of this country.
I’m a QM officer stationed at Fort Campbell. I learned about this site after reading Major Martin’s book “Get Selected”. I joined specifically in hopes of finding a mentor at Fort Campbell or abroad to learn from and help guide me to accomplishing my goal.
My name is Ryan, I'm just a thankful citizen enjoying the chance to see the opinions of professionals on gear. I also have an interest in functional fitness, there seems to be a fair ammount of info on this subject here. I've had the oportunity to have many vets, a few being SF, pass through my life and have been very thankful for the advice they have given me and even more thankful for service they give to this country. I appreciate the chance to be a member of this forum and hope to continue learning from your experience.

I would like to thank the QP's for running this site and making it available to the public. I have been lurking around here for a while now reading and learning as I train to one day join your ranks. I also found "Get Selected" as a result of this site and it is a great read for anyone preparing for selection without the benefit of an SF mentor.
I am currently serving in 1-21 IN out of Schofield Barracks, HI. I am a 19A in an Infantry battalion which at first I was not thrilled about but shortly after moving to the unit I quickly realized what a great opportunity it was for my development. I was afforded the opportunity to attend both Ranger and IMLC, which I may have not been able to attend had I been assigned to an Armor unit. I served as a Mobile Gun System Platoon Leader for 15 months and BN Mortar Platoon Leader for 21 months (12 in Iraq).
I will be attending SFAS starting 20JAN09 to start my journey toward becoming a QP.
I am non-prior service preparing to interview with the 3/20th as soon as MEPS gives me a date for and I pass the medical evaluation. I would like to thank my SF recruiter, SFC B. Merrill, for all of his help so far.

Hello,
I am a Team Mate who has spent time in B/3/1 for 3 years, then PCS'd to Okinawa B/1/1 for 2 years then C/1/1 for the last 2, Oki was the best 4 years of my carreer time in Asia and Centcom I learned a lot about FID, UW, and DA/FID as pertained to two different parts of the world. I have been in the OPS DET Back in Lewis for the last 14 months, recovering from a little accident in Iraq, DOC say I am healthy and I have never felt any better. I am a proud husband, father, and brother of a fiercely patriotic family, my wife is my biggest supporter, then my son and daughter want to join the army next year and the year after, last but not least my brother is a Team Mate in 2nd BN 5th SFG and my Uncle is a retired SGM out of 7th. I love my job and have had plenty of chances and offers to get out and make ridiculous amounts of money, but I love working and hanging around Army USSF dudes in particular, we are different then any other breed of man, anyways I didn't join this outfit for the money in the fist place. I joined to be challenged, to work around hard working knuckle draggers, to be in an enviornment where you better come to work wearing your thick skinned T-shirt to work or don't come at all, and you better be able to have a crafty comeback within 5 seconds or don't even comeback at all.

Hi, my name is Garry. I am 17 years old and still go to high school. I plan on going into the Army as soon as my ear tube falls out and I can get my physical. I love science and want to do something that is challenging mentally and physically. I have grown up listening to my dad talk about his time in the Air Force in the Security Forces. I have learned, from my father, that I can do anything I put my mind to and only I am there to help me fulfill my dreams. A lot of my inspiration comes from the book Flying Through Midnight by John T. Halliday. What draws me to the book is that it teaches people to think outside of the box and that sometimes the rules will get you killed. I always knew I would join the Army ever since I was very little and I know I will not regret ever going in the military.

Hello, my name is Joshua. I'm a prior-service veteran interested in trying out for SF. I stumbled across this website and decided to give it a try. I'm on here to gain information about the REC program and what to expect when I enlist. I was an 11c in my two prior enlistments. I served with the 10th Mtn and the 82nd Abn. My original goal when I first enlisted was to become SF. Unfortunetly life doesn't always go as planned. However, it's never to late to start again and I'm here to fulfill that dream.

Good Evening Gentlemen,
There is no individual on the planet who I respect more than a QP. For eight years now (the whole of my military career) I have lusted over the idea of becoming a member of our Nation's Chosen Soldiery. Up to this point however, my family obligations (wife and three young boys) have been too great to begin such an ascent....
Now I stand at the cusp of an opportunity. I am in the best physical, mental and emotional shape of my life and my wife has given a hesitant, but affirming go-ahead nod. Yet I debate... Am I selfish to consider asking my wife and children to make such a great sacrifice so that I can pursue personal (as well as professional) achievements.?.
Thank you Gentlemen for allowing me access to your forum. Already I have found it to be a vast resource and have spent much time here reading and learning.
Most Sincerely,
JE

Be really sure, it is enough to endure all that is required for this life style without family conflicts. Though we all have had some. My present wife of 30 years knew me and what I was before we were Married, and she has always been a major supporter of my career.
Make sure the family will be proud of the fact that you are a soldier in the Apex warrior role. Make them proud to be a part of you and keep the wife informed, most time it decreases her worry and anxiety. WELCOME, Blitzzz

Greetings, everyone. Just a quick little intro for you. I'm coming up on the end of my first enlistment of 6 years now with the NG. I've been an 11B for that entire time. I've been through one deployment in the 'Stan during OEF VII. I was prepared to submit my packet for selection and meet with the CO and 1SG of the Group I'm looking to join, but then I caught wind of another upcoming deployment soon. So I'll fulfill what I feel to be obligations to my boys first, so they aren't stuck with someone who hasn't deployed who thinks they're the know-all, God's greatest gift to the Infantry.
Upon returning, I'll be submitting my packet at that time. Plus it's a chance to get into even greater shape. Can never be too prepared for that, I feel. I tend to read a lot, post very little, so if anyone wants to know more about me or what-not, I can be reached at a private post or through my AKO. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to learn and be prepared for when I do take the first step.

I'm Sean. Registered since August but I'm a lurker so I haven't posted my intro. Anyway, former USAF Security Forces, former USAF SERE Specialist. Currently working as an instructor for an East coast security and EP firm, although I do get out and teach survival and wilderness medicine on the side.
I haven't seen much on this board I'm qualified to comment on, but I'm posting my intro so I can post on the water purification thread. After that I'll fade back into obscurity again, most likely.
I'm aware that I haven't filled out my profile, I'll attend to that soon.
Take it easy, gentlemen.
Bloodgiver-
In my opinion which is based on 1 trial marriage that failed and another that is at 16 and holding (most in SF), the career can accelerate the failure of a weak marraige. A strong marriage is not destroyed but made stronger. You have but one life to live. Love your babies and your country, you wife will understand.
God bless, safe landings, good teammates!
Hello gents,
As per forum rules I am posting my introduction thread before I start posting. I filled out my bio also. I've been in the army for a few years now. Started off in regular army, then regiment for a short stint and now i've been on 713 for a few years. Anyone on here in 1/7 should be able to verify.

Thank you for letting me into ya'lls house; I'll try not to over indulge and puke on the floor to often.
I am an Army vet, been out for 10 years, served close to 20 in various AD/NG/Reserves. I Had the pleasure of working along side several SF Officers and NCO's in numerous assignments. Worked closely with the 10th (a few were assigned to us) while at Ft Devens HQ DPTSEC in 81-82. Met some 10th guys again at SFOR in Sarajevo in '98.
This is a most hooah website. I've been snooping around your forum; many interesting subjects and characters hanging out here. Hope to make some intelligent contributions in the future.
To all you veterans and retirees, thank you for your service to the nation and to those of you still serving in undisclosed locations; keep your heads down and aim center of mass.

Hello Everyone,
My name is John. I'm currently a full time pre-med student, but am very interested in joining the military after college, before med school or as a career in place of a medical career. The information on this site is amazing and is truly a great resource. I will definitely be reading quite a bit more than posting. Thanks for letting me lurk through your postings!

Thank you to all current and former members of the military on these boards for your service. A special thank you to all of the Quiet Professionals that have devoted much of their time and shared much of their vast knowledge on these forums with many aspiring soldiers.

Hello,
My name is Jeff, and I am currently an 18x contract waiting to ship to Ft Benning to begin my path towards SF. I decided I wanted to do something with my life that I could be proud of, something that I felt like I was making a difference, and I wasn't getting that in the civilian world.
I also was overweight, out of shape, and spent most of my time on a computer.
I did research, months of it, and decided that after years of considering it, to get off my ass and do it. I might not be in the best physical shape of my life yet (although I am working on it), but I do have that drive. I am 100% committed to "tab or cast".
I was fortunate when I began to work out to meet a 25 year SF soldier at the gym, and have been working with him for a few months now. He has definitely been an inspiration, and a mentor to me in regards to the SF world.
See some of you at selection in several months!
- Jeff
I am a 74D that is preparing to ETS after 8 years of Active Duty. I joined this site to find more information on 19th and 20th Groups in hopes of joining a unit in a support role.
I have been to selection before, the winter of 2004, however I did not complete the Star Course. I had intended to go back through but between deployments and trying to get a degree I never completed my goal.
I fully intend to go back through the Q-Course upon completion of my bachelors.
Thank you for sharing access to your site.

First and foremost I apologize, this isn't my first post. While I realize I can't get another first post, if there's just one thing I've learned in the Army its that if you make a mistake man up to it, fix it and learn from it if possible, then drive on without making the same mistake again.
As for the introduction, I'm a 25B, stationed in Germany with the 173rd ABCT. Got back from Afghanistan relatively recently, that was my first time, and I'm sure it won't be my last. I've been in almost 3 years, so I'm still new to Army, but enjoy what I do.
I really enjoy this site, and have found more information here about SF than in just about any other site, or really anywhere around. I hope to be able to contribute in some way. For the most part I'm really looking to be able to soak up some of information and knowledge it seems the individuals on this board posses.
If there are any questions of me, all you have to do is ask.

6.5 and 6.8 are a step in the right direction for the pro,
but i'm still scracthing the o'le scalp as to why they didn't jump back to 7.62
seen a lot of good result's with 6.8
blitzzz, now that is a real wild cat, WILD CAT! you could do it, hummmm.
just for SAG i'm going to look that combo up,
with new powder's these days you can do just about anything with any combo
7mm like them for ONOK (one shot one kill) but they tear hell out of small game, check into 300 weatherby mag, and 7.62,,,,,both can be real fun,do anything rounds, from squirting till the jacket shear's ,clear down to sling shot speed.
like where your heads at though
Ackley, wild cat ed, some thing like it back in early 70's
a 300 Win Mag necked down to ...........17 it was a test set up for some magizine project (think it was gun's and ammo) he ended up only firing a few rounds, he called it "alouden earsplitzen" (it was a joke name, but in his own word's "I'm not man enough to shoot more than a couple a day")

Hello All,
My name is Thomas. I am a senior at the George Washington University in Washington DC. I will graduate in the fall of 2009. Right now I plan to go abroad for 6 months or so to work and/or study (moat likely Jordan or Georgia among others), and after that I am considering enlisting in the 18x program.
I used to be in NROTC and after my first summer cruise I realized that I didn't want to spend my military life on a boat. I got out to explore better options and all roads have lead me to SF.
I have some SEAL friends who are trying to convince me to go to BUD/s instead. My attraction to SF over SEAL is that you guys seem to focus more on FID and working with the locals rather than just door kicking (not that door kicking isn't fun). I am also really interested in the cultural and language learning opportunities of being in SF.
I am hear to mostly read and gather information. I doubt I will post too often; although, that may change once I get closer to (a) making a more concrete decision and (b) shipping out.
Thank you for letting me be a part of this forum. Forgive the length...
Respectfully,
Thomas

Based on your Screen-Name, plus the ambiguity of the above statement, coupled with the statement in your profile: "Civil servant. Work as a civillian in jail. " (not in A jail, after all most inmates ARE civillians), you could either be spending ALL of your time in JAIL, as in incarcerated, or you may go outside the perimeter to return home during your off-duty hours!!! So, which is it?!?!?!:munchin

AM,
No, I’m not an inmate. Yet. For some of us who have been there since the bulk of our customers were five or ten years old, and for those on the staff who put in 60+ hour weeks on OT, seems like we spend more time inside than our clientele. We tend to have Seasonal Affective Disorder the year ‘round.
I have known of one or two minimum security inmates that were allowed by the court to leave for work every day, returning every evening. Not so different from many a marriage…

Greetings,
I joined this site to learn a little bit more about the Spec Ops community. I'm an Army Reserve 1LT (Quartermaster) deployed to Afghanistan and we've been helping some SF units over here recently.
I was pretty shocked when I learned that a lot of folks don't treat the SF issues as a priority here in the support community. I assure you anything SF that comes across my desk becomes a priority and gets handled right away. I also try to make sure they get all the newest sh*t.
Like I said above, I'm just here to learn more so maybe I can do a better job supporting you over here in the fight. Anything that can be done to make your life easier is what I'm here for. Thanks.

americanMETAl13., I appreciate your working with SF teams. It is not unusual to see that support for A-teams has been traditionally weak. That is why a good scrounger is a must on every team. This is a Special Forces site not so much Spec OPs. There is a distinct difference . Though many try to lump us all together. There is much good info here and I hope it helps. Good Morning all,
I am a retired USAF Combat Cameraman/ Aerial Cameraman with multiple deployments from Desert Storm through OIF/OEF currently teaching at the 68W basic course at Ft Sam. I am a NREMT-P/Texas Paramedic. I am here for two main things: 1- gain info , both for myself and to pass on to my students and 2 - if a question comes up within my very narrow lane of SME knowledge, pass on info from my experience. I have lurked here a while and expect to read frequently and post rarely.
Hello Gentlemen.
Thank you for allowing me to be a member, it is an honor for me.
I was in the US Army in military intelligence and am a former law enforcement officer. During my time as a deputy, I worked at Robin Sage for 4 yrs as a roll player. I have been around the community since I was very young. I have many friends in the community, most of which are like family to me.
I have enjoyed the postings thus far, in particular the "posers". I have taken an interest in two of them. One of which I found updated information on and have queries out there to affirm his public statements about himself. I will gladly give you the information when I receive it.

Hello members.
My name is Stephen G. and I am fire-rescue battalion chief with a south Florida department with 27 years of service. I am also the medical TL for our police departments SWAT team, a program I implemented about 4 years ago. I am active in this field with the Florida SWAT Association and am a member of the NTOA and SOMA. I also sit on the TEMS advisory council for South Florida.
I have no military experience but am proud to have a son serving as a 13F with the 1/214 FA. He is currently home from an extended tour.
I will be reading and participating in the medical forums and am here primarily to learn from your experiences.
Thank you all for your service.
Stephen G.
I am currently a 21B in the Army Reserves, and I'm shipping out for Basic and AIT this summer. I'm also a Junior in Industrial Engineering. I intend to sign a contract with ROTC in about a year, and I'd preferably like to branch Infantry. I do intend to improve my athletic and soldiering skills, and be the best I can before I get selected to get a shot at the Q course.
Also, my ID is my name. It's pronounced thusly:
KI as in KIt and RAN as in RUN [it's a short A sound.]
I've been told it's also an Irish name spelled Kiran or Kieren.
I ran across this website on google a while ago, but I forgot about it. I saw a link to it on futuresoldiers.com. I checked it out and the wealth of information is fascinating and beyond belief. I read every word with great humility as I remind myself that they're the words of the best of the best. Also, I've been using the search engine quite frequently.

First let me thank you for allowing me to be here. I respect all that you go through for my freedom. My father was an 18B in the 60s and 70s. I have always wanted to follow in his footsteps, but keep hitting raodblocks. I am determined to bust through every last one and join the ranks of the most amazing defenders of our freedom.
I was born and raised in Maine. My step-brother attended The Citadel while I was young. We went to visit and I was hooked. I attended as well (in the same company even - Cahrlie casual cats). Upon graduation, I figured I had had enough and returned to Maine to teach. I wasn't long before I was at a recruiter's office to enlist (to pay off college loans - yeah right) - again I was hooked. I am currently a 27D Paralegal NCO. I still have the taste for the real deal. I am training, reading, and researching - and now I am hooked on this site. Thanks again for letting little old me satnd in the shadows of giants.

Bloodgiver-
In my opinion which is based on 1 trial marriage that failed and another that is at 16 and holding (most in SF), the career can accelerate the failure of a weak marraige. A strong marriage is not destroyed but made stronger. You have but one life to live. Love your babies and your country, you wife will understand.
God bless, safe landings, good teammates!
Thank you gentlemen very much for the remarks.... Your thoughts will be taken greatly into consideration.

Very interesting and informative site. I spent 7 years in the ARNG as an 11B in a SCT Plt, then 3 more in the ANG in a SFS. Been working as a Probation Agent (adult felons) for about 14 years now, train DT and firearms, execute warrants and searches. Spent about 3 years on the local FD went thru some USAR training also took an EMT class. Just trying to keep up on the tactical side of things.
I appreciate being allowed on the site.

Greetings,
I had served in OIF as a grunt in a line platoon, and after that I knew where I needed to go... I attended SFAS when it was 24 days long, Airborne after that, started and finished the Q course without recycling. I was MOS Q'ed at Eureka Springs and took language blitz in Russian. After one tour in Pineland I graduated July 2008, and now I'm serving in 20th SFG (A) just south of the Mason-Dixon line.
I've been viewing this site for a few months now and admire all the knowledge & wisdom delegated through out this site, and realize I still have a long road ahead of me... the learning has just begun.
Thanks for the web site
Have a Happy New Year!
My name is Taylor and I am an 89D in training. I have been in the Army for about 6 months now and went to basic at Ft. Leonardwood. So far I'm loving EOD and am only here to absorb knowledge and stay out of the way. Thank you for this privilege.

ALCON,
I have served a long while in the worlds greatest Navy and will continue to do so as long as the admiralty allows. I have achieved the honorable rank of Chief Petty Officer in a community that is well regarded professionally and notorious in deeds. Though these days I am not a full time sailor and perform my drill weekends with pride. I have served with the best warriors this great nation of ours has ever produced and it has been the highest priveledge. We have made and shaped history despite the ill decisions of a few powerfull elected officials. Ahhh...but alas, there be opportunity in conflict matey! Anyway, I have chosen a life of service to Uncle Sam and imagine I will do so for some time. I don't know how active I will be in this forum, but I do stop by to read them all. I am a life long learner and there is much to take in from this site. Thank you all for posting your knowledge.

I am a member of the run, jump, swim club; however, not a SEAL. I am a Chief EOD Tech who has served along side SEALs and SF in Kosovo, Iraq, HOA, and Colombia. I am Combat Diver, MFF, HRST qualified and currently a Federal LEO. Thanks for the warm welcome though.
Hi. I found this site awhile back when I Googled Flint Kaserne. I was stationed there from June 71 to Dec. 72. I was with the support company. If I could have stayed in Bad Toelz for my entire carreer I would have made the Army a career. I had a great time there and met a lot of great people. It's sad to see what they have done with the Kaserne but there's no stoping progress?

Greetings.
My name is Mike. 24 years old. Active Duty 11B. Currently deployed in support of OIF. Assigned to the S-3 Shop. Few credits short of my degree in English. Plan to knock it out this tour, and then start a B.S. in Intelligence Studies (concentration in Intelligence Collection).
Reading, writing, training, foreign languages, drills, and ballistics occupy my down time.
Have a few friends who are in the SF pipeline now, wanted to learn more what they are going through, and found the site to be vastly informative. I look forward to learning a lot and thank you for the opportunity to do so.

Hello QP members;
I am an Active duty enlisted soldier in the Army. I have been a 68KP9 (Biological Research Tech) for the past four years and served that time at the US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine.
I recently re-enlisted under the BEAR program to become a 35F (Intel Analyst) and upon course completion, I will be heading to one of the units in the 173rd.
The reason I joined this site is to 1) learn as much as I can from those that have been deployed, and 2) share my knowledge where applicable.
Thank you for the opportunity,

I am a civilian who has done nothing to warrant my membership here. I have always enjoyed reading military history and found the site while searching book reviews. Since then I have been lurking and have found a great source of information on such a wide variety of topics. I have hesitated to sign up since I do not see myself having much to contribute, but I appreciate being able to use the search feature. The little bit of SA that I have aquired tells me that I have probably said more then I should so I better run for cover. I would just like to add that I am greatly appreciative of the service many here have given on behalf of freedom. Thank You.

Howdy.
My name is Calvin and I'm currently a student in Texas in Army ROTC.
I don't know if, when I graduate, I'd like to go medical and be an army doc or infantry and then perhaps special forces.
I'm here to learn.
I have known of this site, and have been reading on it, for well over a year now. I have finally registered so that I can use the search function, and take better advantage of the incredible amount of knowledge here. I have never encountered a site that maintains such a level of professionalism. I am continuously impressed the more I read the threads. I feel priveleged to have the opportunity to be here.
Thanks to all the QPs who take their time and disseminate their expertise. It is unlikely you will hear anything else from me; I have little/nothing to offer, and I'm used to researching my questions on my own. I'm here to continue to learn and use this site to gain more knowledge and understanding. It's nice to have a legitimate, trustworthy source about the topics that I am interested, and that will be a huge part of my life when I go on active duty and deployments. Thanks for the help.
Sincerely,
Carmen

Hello to the community,
I'm called Muddyboots.
I'm a Mountaineering guide and instructor. I also have experience in general outdoor education and other guiding. I have worked as an EMS/SAR/Rescue instructor and program designer. Really what I do is teach people. The subject matter is something that is less important to me than the goal. I'm the kind of person you want between a techno-wonk and a team in a train up for some odd ball mission need. I have worked with Quiet Professionals though I'm nowhere nearly as well known as Mark Twight who worked with the Navy. I have also participated in FTX. When asked, I have helped individual soldiers further develop their own skills in technical outdoor activities. I have worn many hats and travelled widely, working and living with local people on five continents. Another area that people see fit to pay for my opinion and assistance is logistics. I can identify with some of the bread and butter work of Special Forces.
I am a moderator on a well known survival board and from that experience I have a real respect for the demeanor of this board. I will not be posting much and will stick to my areas of knowledge. I offer help in any area I can. There is a wealth of information posted on this board. I know because I spent about two years reading before I even registered.
I am here at the suggestion of a Washington State area Reserve component ODA Team Sgt.

Hello all,
Former 18x, medically discharged at Benning after my right tympanic membrane mysteriously ruptured. The problem ended up healing on its own in about 6 months and I’ve been cleared by my civilian ENT. I’m listed as an RE code 3, so I’m waiting to see if I can get a waiver. I’ve kept up with friends in the pipeline and would like nothing more than to reenlist. I’ve since gone back to working with the federal government which I enjoy but due to my political background is of course at the moment looking quite bleak.
I want to say thank you to those of you who have served and/or are in service. The wealth of knowledge and respect I’ve witnessed on this forum is amazing and commensurate to its title. Thank you

Hello Everyone...
My name is Torres and I've been a lurker here for a while so it seems about time that I finally introduce myself. My SF time was spent with 11th SF from 1979 until 1986. I was a rep 63 with no prior service that enlisted as a medic. I went through SFQC and returned to B211 after completing same. I'm currently working as the clinical director for an aeromedical transport service called STAT MedEvac in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I was told about this forum by friends on the SFList email group, several of whom are also on this forum. My PMOS was 18D but was originally 91B3S until SF became its' own branch. My civilian profession is registered nursing. I still have a few friends that are out there in the active and NG groups but more of my contemporaries are either senior NCO's or are retired now.

11th and 12th SF Groups were the two USAR SF Groups that were shut down in the 90's by the Clinton Gang. I'm pretty sure that we were the only combat units in the USAR as all of the others are in combat support roles.

Hmm I do not recall if I ever did this but I guess I did now;)
I am Scott Gross, son of Richard (Dick) Gross, of Team Ca. , I am 6th Generation of Army and my Daughter is 7th.
I started my Army life in 1980 as a Jr in High School @ the school of Hard Knox, Ft. Knox, Ky, they have some very big and mean hills there, returned back to High School and served with the 508th MP @ Ft Bragg as a reservist. Did one tour and got out, was not happy with AR. Took a break and enlisted again in 1986, back to Ft Knox, Ky for 13 wks of Basic training, Shipped to Ft Eustis to attend 66c, Watercraft engineer, after completion volunteered for Panama, Where I was assigned to 193rd Inf, Ft Clayton, moved on to 1097th Boat company, were I deployed in the counter narco war with 3rd/7th, 75th Rangers, Marine Force Recon, Special Boat Unit 22, and Seals, Later was OJT to 97B under the guidance of 513th or 519th MI, been so long I can not remember. more Counter-narco stuff in Central and South America with the teams.
My Fondness memory of service was about 2am there was a knock at my quarters, I was thinking Oh crap, Non-telephonic alert, so I send the wife down while I grab my BDUs and get dress ASAP, I am also listening well I am putting on my shoes, it was the CSM from 3/7th asking my wife @ 2am in the morning if I could come out and play:D
Returned to Ft Eustis, Va where I was assigned to US Army dive vessel, search and recovery, no job in my primary @ that God forsaken place, took leave and signed in at Ft. Bragg, assigned to staff of Gen Shelton.
Found this place in a google search looking for info on my Dad.
Pete M and Roger Pickette, LC Richards, helped me out, getting the info for me, I was presented the Combat Halo Wings and Awards on behalf of my Father, my mother is very proud and greatful to all of you who served with my father and kept him safe, and as his son, I can not thank you enought for letting me have the time to spend with my Hero, my DAD!

Hello,
I would like to take a minute to tell you a little about myself. I started my military career in 1983 when I graduated as an 11-B from Ft. Benning. I worked as a range cadre on Malone 16 with the USAR until I moved on to D Troop 1/101 Air-Cav (LRP) SCARNG. From there I went to A/4 118th INF. SCARNG. I got out of the service in 1993. I re-enlisted in May of 2006 and now assigned to HHC 1/118th CAB (Scout Platoon). I finished my 1st deployment (OEF) in May of 2008. I had the good fortune to work with ODA*** 10th SFG and that’s where I found out about this web-site.

I just left AD, intel guy, and am considering pursuing SF in the guard. I was a select at SFAS in Jan 08, so Ill be interested to catch some of the threads on 19th/20th SFG. Of course, I have some questions- but Ill save that for another forum.
Thanks much for all the info, Im sure Ill be reading from the corners for a bit.
Hello all,
I just left group seven months ago. Within that time, after going back to school thanks to the G.I. Bill, I've come to very much miss the mission and camaraderie that I quickly became accustomed to. I've been around here for a bit, but mostly read. Just a quick intro for me. I'm currently with 20th Group in a support capacity in the NG out of Birmingham. I probably won't be posting very often (my first post is 5 years after I joined the site), but an intro is an intro and still required... :)
Greetings to all.
I'm currently serving in the Army as an EOD team leader. I found this site after searching and looking for information. One of my team members will be attending SFAS soon and I wanted to know a bit more about it.
Great site. I'll be observing for a while to come.

First off....Thank you for this site!!!!
I am 29, and have just joined the Army Reserve as a 21C. I am thinking that I may have made a mistake by joining the USAR versus AD. I have a degree, and I have a strong desire to make a difference in the World, but feel that I should be working and serving as a warrior that knows how to use his heart, mind, and intellect.
Right now, I am concentrating on leaving for OSUT and moving past this stage in my military career. After this, I will either be looking at comissioning options or options to move to SF. At 29, I know I must start making decisions so that my age does not prevent me for achieving something so incredible through hardwork and determination.
I am here to research my options and determine what I can do to be a stronger soldier and hopefully a solid candidate at SFAS.
I will not ask a question unless I have exhausted my options(outside of calling someone at SOF Command). I will read and head everything that I can to help become more informed. I will respect those who have been there and done that, and will avoid disrespecting them. I want to be a good soldier and I hope to earn my keep.
Also...I am looking for a SF mentor, if anyone would be willing to give me the time of day.
Out!

Hello ALL, I am about to deploy for my first time with group. I have a few financial questions. My situation is this: I am single and army pay is pretty good for a young single soldier. At home, however, my family is struggling. I am planning on purchasing a home for my mother with my first deployment's money. My question is this:
How much money will I make while deployed for nine months as an E5? This is probably a stupid question, and you may think I am being greedy, but in truth I am trying to make the best financial arrangements for my family.

Hey guys I am a former MARINE who served four years and completed tours in both OIF and OEF in an infantry platoon. I have been out four years and I am interested in joining the NG and possibly getting into a SF unit to see if the lifestyle is for me. I live in FL and would most likely go with 3/20A out of Ocala. I am here to find out some info on NGSF and 20th group in a whole. Any general info you guys could provide a prior service veteran looking to join the NG would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome everyone.
usmcman, I strongly suspect that what you are asking about has already been discussed thoroughly here.
If you have questions which cannot be answered by searching, and I mean THOROUGHLY searching, ask in the appropriate area.
newguy, I believe that you have been given some excellent advice that you should follow.
Best of luck all.

Thanks for the site, been reading for awhile now. I do apologize for not posting an introduction earlier.
I'm a CANG member PMOS 42A, SMOS 11B, re-enlisted after a ten year break in service, and loving every minute of it.
Hope to make the move to Intel someday and hopefully become proficient and useful enough to apply for a Support Role in SOF someplace.
Again my sincere thanks for creating this site and allowing individuals like myself to interact.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of joining ProfessionalSoldiers.com.
I was a "leg" MP stationed in Frankfurt Germany so I am here primarily as an observer. I look forward to talking with all of you (probably at the very minimum) in the future and learning more about SF History.
Although I chose a different career path outside of the Army I still hold all the values that the Army instilled in me and I try to pass those values on to my children.
Lastly, thank you to everyone here for your past, present & future service to the Greatest Nation on the planet...

My name is Tom Jenkins. I served in the Army from 1976 through 1983 in the Military Police. I entered on duty with the U.S. Border Patrol in September 1984 and have worked chasing illegal aliens and drug dealers along the southwest border in California, New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona for over 24 years. I'm currently assigned to HQS. in DC as an Operations Officer. I appreciate the opportunity to learn from the Quiet Professionals on this site. Thanks for your service to this country. I appreciate what you do and what you've done.
BorderCop,
We may have worked together a time or two. I've done several JTF-6 missions with the border patrol, the BORTAC unit also. We always had a great time and some good training.
EDIT: Oh and welcome to the site also

glebo,
The Border Patrol, particularly BORTAC, have worked with SF on numerous occasions. I've personally dealt with JTF-6 when we put training missions together for our counterparts south of the border. Good folks working there to be sure. We've also called JTF-6 for air support when our own assets were unavailable to us. Thanks for the welcome.

Sorry I ment to put my post in this thread.
Hello everyone. I have sat here for my 72 hour waiting period wondering what to say and what questions to ask. I have two kids, I'm married and I was in the Reserves as an Engineer for 8 years and was in Iraq from May 2003 to May 2004. I started my own business in Lawn and Landscaping and had that for four years and closed the doors in 08'. I have always had this desire to achieve something great, to be among the elite if you will. It may sound cheesy but I find it difficult to be a civilian and I hated the Reserves. There has always been this part of me that draws me to the SF I think of it everyday, literally.
I guess what answers I am looking for is what is family life like, or even just everyday life. I understand that SF is deployed about 50% of the time but for those that have wives and children how do you get through it? How do you walk away from your kids? I dont mean that to be rude but how do you emotionally hold it together? no I'm not a sensitive wus I'm just a concerned father with many questions. How do you work it out with your wives?
I hope to hear from those that have experienced it, those that have comparisons and good advice. I guess I am hoping for some motivation in a way. If everything works out I hope to be getting in the pipeline in July of 2009.

Hello,
I am currently currently in college and commission into the Army in less than 18 months. I just got back from Robin Sage where I participated as a "G" and was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the students as well as the cadre. This experience has made me want to learn as much as I can about the Special Forces community and this site is the perfect forum for this. Thank you for your service and for all the valuable information you have compiled here!
Good Day Sirs!

Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself and to say thank you for all the threads that you have allowed me to reference over the last 20 months, it has really helped! My name is Nate and I have been in the WVARNG for 8 years, which I spent most of it as an MP. Although 2 years of it I spent trying to get over to the 2/19th Training Team. Then in OCT '08 I became a member of the Training Team and plan to take full advantage of it and go to SFAS very soon and to the SFQC in the late fall of '09 if all possible.:lifter
To The Team Sergeant And All Quiet Pros,
Hello to All, My name is Carl, a.k.a (Red/Rojo) depending which names/call signs are left over. I am a Staff Sergeant and former member of Company C-3/7th SFG(A) I'm Not an SF Tabber, I'm as "S" Identified Intelligence Analyst. (INTELL GEEK) I worked in the S-2 Intelligence Section a.k.a (The Empire) Back in those days, Back then in Panama, the shooters were still taping, or hose claimping,
little mag-lights to thier weapons and making thier own preasure switches. Even though we had the best electronics and communications equipment available at the time; sending secure video was still nearly immpossible and required 3 large suitcases full of heavy equipment. Now, it can all be done via secure cellular telephone technology that fits in the palm of the hand.
The SF community is very small, so, I would think that most of the old timers will remember me. I processed tons and tons of personal security classifications for all the Teams down in Panama and had the Honor of being elected as the S-2 Cadre, and Security and Intelligence Scenario writer for the SFARTIC (MTT) LoL...A few guys there said they'd never forget me. (LOL) I'll never forget that assignment...
I made a (now,) funny mistake during an o-dark early morning on that job; I recieved an alert order. But, instead of giving it to the Team Sergeant. I walked over to the Team Area, and yelled "Suit 'em up boys, full kit!." I can't remember too much of what the TM Sergeant was yelling aside from the part about tearing my lungs out, and killing me if I ever did it agian. Nope,Never, Ever, Did That Again...
C-3/7th SFG(A) was the best job of my life. I got to attend the unit level Sniper and Observation Course, Special Operations Inetelligence Course, I've completed all the correspondence course requirements for the O/I course but can't get the certificate as the Army Corresspondence Course Institute says it's been discontinued...I stiil have my documention maybe I can get a cert of completion from Bragg. I live in Pittsburgh, but, I'd drive down to Fort Bragg just to get that paperwork squared away. I don't think too many non-tabbers except for a few old SF reserve guys have completed it.
I was at 96th Civil Affairs Bn from 95-97 and worked in the S-2 Section. I did even more security clearences in support of the Teams. And finally, got deployed as a team member to Bosnia. I also had the dubious distinction of being the Battalion Equal Opportunity Representative; Security Inspector, Not to mention Wizzmaster, on Top of all that.
There was a plus side, even though the work was usually under semi-stressful or very boring conditions I got to meet and work among the finest Special Forces NCOs in the Army. I even got my Master Blaster at the 96th, My assignment at The 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) was way cool. but, C-3/7th SFG(A) Kicked big ass it's the best unit in the U.S. Army, No Question About it. And the shooters at C-3/7th SFG(A) are better than ya'll know who, and ya'll know where!
Thanks guys, and sorry for such a long ass intro..But, I LOVED MY JOB AT C-3/7TH SFG(A).
P.S. A Quiet Professional named Chief IKE from 7th Group (I believe)
lives near by me here in Pittsburgh, every time I see him he tells me
to send his best regards to all. Thanks Guys, Stay Safe and God Bless

Hello.
DZ is the name I use in the ether world.
I had thought I had registered quite a while ago but guess not.
I apologize to that piece of misinformation I passed in person to several of you last week.
Not SF. Never a member of any unit that is special above the men in it.
Started service in commo during the 90's. Hated it & got lucky in a reclass to 11B. Had bigger dreams but mismanaged life & didn't achieve them.
After 8+ year break in service & some lost friends I had to come back.
I did what I could. Nothing exceptional.
Hopefully I can get back to some useful function that helps bad men kill bearded, smelly, evil ones.
I hate the enemies of my country with an undying passion. I try to [edit] use my [edit]critical thinking skills & remain as objective as possible before drawing conclusions.
Once they are set. . . I'm pretty firm in them but not afraid to admit I've been wrong if it comes to it.
I don't see myself accumulating a lot of posts on this board. I've been reading here for quite a while. Much of the content is out of my lane. I'll contribute when I can. I have a real case of the ass for mouth running "Chihuahua Warriors" & moral cowards. I like how they are managed here.
Thanks for your time.

Hello all, Enlisted 1-24-09 as SGT, 11x. Prior service Navy 7 years active, Army graciously allowed me to keep my rank.
Since I enlisted with E-5 grade determination, I was limited in the mos's I was able to select. I selected 11x. The only enlistment program I could get was requested training, which brings me to my question.
Any advice on how to get to Airborne training would be extremely helpful. I was unable to contract for it because of my enlistment program.
Thanks for any help and Thank You for the infromation already provided by your site! The search box is excellent.

Gentlemen,
I have been on this board before and forgot my user name and password so I just made a new one. I came here as I was interested in joining the army, but didn't not know which route I wanted to take. Last time I was here I used the wealth of knowledge and read several posts that eventually lead me to make the decision to join the Army.
Since then I became an SMP cadet. I went to 11B OSUT and now I am in my last semester of college and hopefully will branch Infantry when I commission in the spring.
The main reason for me being here is I am writing a paper for a class on the War on Terror and how it differs from any other conflict for several reasons. I am going to search the site (library) to find posts that recommend something that might be valuable for me to read not only to write a good paper but to increase my knowledge before becoming a leader.
Crawling back into my lurker status now.
Thank you.
Hi everyone, thanks for the opportunity to use this site. I have had the opportunity to work with and interact with quite a few Special Forces soldiers in my eight years in the Army. My first duty station was Ft. Lewis Washington and it seemed to me that every SF soldier that I came into contact with was welcoming and took the time to anwser any questions I had. After my first 4 year enlistment I decided to get out of the Army and go to college. While in school I decided to continue my service in the national guard. While in the guard I was deployed to Iraq where my infantry unit shared a small building with an ODA team. They were the most professional soldiers I had ever dealt with and were always willing to share helpful information. From there I decided I would start researching and training to attend SFAS. Once again thanks for the information that you have provided here and all of the help and guidance I have received throughout my years in service.

Anthropologist and prior service 96B/Turkish Linguist. Collecting info on re-enlisting or going O in an MID; either NG or AD. Trying to get a feel for the current intel situation [and needs], and work out some personal COAs.
In the long run, I would also be interested in possibilities leading up to 18F.
Thanks in advance for the G2. And the patience.
Greetings,
I've been lurking around this site for around 2 years, if memory serves me correctly. I serve in a LRS unit in Nebraska. I want to thank you for allowing me to join your site and learn from the wealth of knowledge that it contains. I have long been interested in pursuing a life within the Special Forces and have found the forums located within this site to be incredibly helpful.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get back to that "Search Button."

Hello Gentlemen,
I am a 25 year old former Marine Infantry Sergeant. I served four years active duty with Charlie Co. 1st Light Armored Recon Bn. During this time I did two combat deployments to Iraq. First in 03 for the invasion with RCT 5 1stMARDIV and then again in 04/05 for operations in Najaf, Karbala and Al Anbar as a part of the 11th MEU(SOC) where I got the pleasure of sticking it to Sadr and his bums and then some equally worthless insurgent knuckleheads.
Currently I am Junior at the University of Texas at Austin where I am majoring in Middle Eastern Studies, History, and Government. I recently, enrolled in the AROTC program and am currently a c/SGT. I am also the President of the Student Veterans Association at UT. I just recently spent five months living and studying in Cairo, Egypt.
I am here to take advantage of the amazing wealth of professional and personal knowledge available from you gentlemen as I try to achieve my goal of becoming an 18A and joining your prestigious brotherhood. Thank you and I look forward to increasing my SA.

Greetings Gentlemen,
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your site. I have found this to be a very informative site.
I am an 11B in the OHARNG. I have been enlisted for 12 years. For the past 7 years I have been on a fairly regular deployment cycle. During my tour in Iraq, I had the privilege of working with a few SF members from various units. This interaction helped me take a closer look at what I wanted to accomplish in the army and the type of people that I want to work with. I am currently training for my chance to tryout for the SF Company in my state.
Thank you for all of the very useful information you have provided me in my preparation.
Thank you,

I would like to start with saying thank you for giving me the opportunity to share in this website with you. In a very small way i feel i have been accepted into a part of the world that most don't really know exsists, or don't want to admit too. I am a NCO with 1-22IN 4ID, in Iraq at the present. I am heading home soon. I have been deployed twice with this unit since (2005 - present). I also was with 187IN 101st Airborne DIV from (2001 - 04). I am married with no children. My future at this time is still unpaved for me, i have talked with 19th group and i am on file with them. My plan is to link up with my contacts there, take the assesments and finally attend SFAS. I want to stay focused on the 25m target here. I have read over all the prescribe materials and will comply with all rules and regulations set forth on this site. I use the search engine frequently and get good results. So let me end with this i am honored to be accepted into this small part of the (QP's) world......."What i know is that i am determained to give my all, every ounce of my being to complete the set forth training and requirments to join the ranks of such greatness.".......
Good afternoon gentlemen,
I am soon to be enlisted with the hopes of an 18X contract. I am here to learn what I can from this amazing site and put it to use in my endeavor to become a Special Forces Soldier. As soon as I have my paperwork filled out, I will come back and edit this post to give a proper introduction. Thanks.

Good evening,
I reserved my 18x contract and plan to sign it after MEPS next week. I have been scouring over the site for a little under a month to soak in as much information as I can. Thank you very much for this resource, it made my decision that much easier as my recruiter was not very knowledgable in regards to the 18x contract, or SF in general.
Will come back with an update after I sign my contract!
Thanks.

Hi my name is Michael, I am a 25 year old patrol officer in Tennessee. I joined this site in order to find good reliable information about joining the Special Forces. I have been finding lots and lots of useful info on here. Some questions have been answered and some questions have not. It seems that the more I learn the more questions I have and the more time I spend on here each day. I look forward to speaking to each and every one of you. I am greatful and have much respect for the men and women in our armed forces today. I am interested in joining the SF forces even though I have never been in the military mainly because when I do things i want to be the best. In this case that would mean be one of the best. I want to learn as much as I can as quickly as I can. I am wanting to be on my way to basic by spring of 2010. I thank you ahead of time for any information any of you will be giving me.
Thanks Michael
