I would like to thank you for making such a great resource available for us inspiring to change our lives. I have been visiting your site now for a few months and sometimes find myself reading some of the posts as if they were books. I can not believe how well written and enlightening some of them are. I am at a crossroad in my life and have a few options available to me and I am trying to make the most informed decision I can. You probably won’t hear too much from me because I still have a lot of reading ahead. I am fortunate enough to be working w/a mentor whose advice and instruction I find invaluable but I am always open to more. Thanks again!

Salutations.

Former 18D, subsequent CSAR, subsequent security consultant, then security manager.

Spent last 7 years in the ME, doing security work, then as a security manager.

Divorced father of two boys.

Purpose here-
1) Add what I can to the community.
2) RFS on the web magazine I founded and am EIC- www.alphadad.net. The magazine contributing editors are mostly ex-SF guys, mil/ex-mil guys, and serious Alpha Male civilians. The mag is designed for the interest of guys just like you and I- with articles, humor, commentary (NOTHING political), and reviews on gear movies, games, books, media. Grown-up, interesting content without nudity or overly coarse language. But we even have a Parent/Kids page, with good articles and cool/fun stuff to show, teach and do with your kids.
3) RFS on content input to Alpha Dad- guest reviews, commentary, articles or items of interest. Have also been posting a lot of photographic work; submssions sought/welcome. Appropriate humor and funny pix welcome. If you would like to contribute/have your work posted, review the mag and get a feel for content. If nothing else, I know all the group here should have gear suggestions/reviews.
4) Provide support to other SF guys, mil guys, and others in the community with pro-bono advertising, cross-listings for business or other sites. I have given significant space and exposure to properly vetted supporters and A+ companies and friends that have good products/services for our community.

Warning Order RFS item: we are building three lists- one for Alpha Dad significant others to get some ideas on what to get the Alpha Male; one with numerous suggestions from a number of our female readers on what to get a gal for Christmas; and one for suggestions on what to get kids of all ages for their Christmas present(s). Anyone wishing to contribute to any of these lists is requested to put in their thoughts/suggestions.

I think our web magazine is... pretty darn good stuff. Good writing, interesting subjects, funny humor. Check it out. All support, feedback and input is welcome.

I request full-vetting to Professional Soldiers for adequate use of tools and sections.

I apologize in advance for my lengthy intro; I seek support from the community of my peers. I am also at your disposal to assist and support in any way possible.

My name is Paul. I got a Bachelor's in Computer Science, then enlisted as an Infantryman. BASD 25 May 2006. Went through Airborne, then got assigned to Kelley Hill with 1-15 INF, 3BCT, 3ID. I'm currently deployed to Iraq with the unit. I'm here to do some research and hopefully won't pose any annoyance to the regulars on this forum.

Hello,

I'm 23, from Indiana, currently finishing my master's in biology (focus on molecular genetics) in Indianapolis and trying to figure out whether to go to medical school, or run the 18x gauntlet and try for 18D for a few years. I heard about this forum while browsing the SOCNET forums and have really enjoyed using both as resources to assist in training and prep.

And thank you for allowing me to post. My name is Dutch and I am a trauma surgeon in Phoenix. I also practice burn surgery and surgical critical care as well. I have been looking at the medical postings here and felt I might be able to offer a modicum of insight into acute care surgery, especially in regards to trauma and burns. I hope to share, learn and exchange ideas with you, if I might.

And one last thing I would like to say is thank you all for doing what you do or did do to allow me to do what I do every day. This has not escaped me.

Just wanted to introduce myself. Im 26 years old. I am a combat engineer working on pursuing my goal of becoming SF. I have operational experience in iraq for OIF I and OIF III. Heading to selection for 02-08 class in next week. Going to see how this new 14 day SFAS is.

Hello to all,

I am currently a sophmore majoring in Political Science. I plan on finishing college and then signing up. The option of ROTC has intrigued me alot lately. Is it possible to be an 18x after graduation of ROTC? I have a pretty good sense of humor and am a humble guy. So Ill be around asking some intelligent questions and maybe posting in the general off topic threads. And one more question is the Get Selected book only available online, or is it available in general bookstores?
