The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

Anyone here read this book?

I'm about 3/4 the way through it, and the things that it points out are friggin mind blowing.

Read it a few weeks ago on a plane. One of those books where you stand back and think, "This is amazing if certain aspects of this are more truthful than fictionalized, but if true, why the hell is it in release in a book?"

My entire family read it and then demanded that I do the same. I generally stay away from Bestselling fiction because there is so much more to read in my Field of Interest. It was a good, quick read, and yes, the information it provided was pretty fantabulous. He wrote another book about Demons and Angels in the same sort of fact/fiction thread, if anyone's interested.

I've noticed that it references his ealier book often in "The Da Vinci Code" but is it necesarry to read Angels and Demons to fully understand Da Vinci Code?

While there are references it's not necessary to read Angels and Demons first

Good reads but not as factual as some have taken them.

Yes, but it is fun to imagine "what if this is true?"

Hell yes

Suspension of disbelief is almost a must when reading fiction

Does anyone here know or want to know the most academically-accepted answer to the question: why does Mona Lisa smile?
