Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Army

Born on June 14, 1775 and still looking good, despite some ups and downs.

Yes Happy Birthday! Seems just like yesterday that I was celebrating the 200th at Ft. Campbell as a recently minted E2.

The live coverage on Fox News Channel is going well so far. Lots of folks, and some history lessons to be had as well. (I enjoyed the area way back; do not miss the Pentagon.)

Edit to add: As adorable as Emily Compagno is, they could do way less talk & more listening to whatever unit band comes by and just appreciate the hardware that rolls by.

Is this in reference to the marching by most of the units in the parade. THE USMA cadets looked pretty sharp but the rest of the units.......... My wife hails from a Navy family and she remarked how the bulk of the troops marched like sailors. A friend of mine (E8) tells me that the Obama administration did away D&C in basic training, is that true?

I think that it was on purpose so as not to look like the NorKos and Chinese who seem to only train to march. The US Army is showing the world that it trains to fight, not march.
