New Toy

Did anybody here post about a raffle at the Wolf Creek Co VFW? I bought 5 tickets for $20 and won a Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle 308 win. I sure want to thank whoever posted about the raffle. It could have been on Facebook, I just can not remember. I had never looked at the Scout rifle but now that I have it in my hands I like. I put the reflex sight on it until I decide what I want on it. Will mostly use for deer and hogs. Any suggestions?

Congratulations first and foremost, use it well.

LTC Jeff Cooper came up the the specs and purpose for a scout rifle. I can't find his literature on the subject at the moment, though I'm sure you're familiar with it.

The wiki page is suprisingly accurate on the subject...

I imagine it would be a great ranch rifle, coyote, be they 2 or 4 legged.

Nice, you got it for the right price. SRP is a bit steep for what it is.
