Remember the Alamo, Remember Fort Hood

Remember the Alamo, Remember Fort Hood

Three days after the Fort Hood massacre that left 14 people dead and 32 injured on November 5, 2009 Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey told George Stephanopolous on ABC This Week that “…what happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here.”

One year and a few days later, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff avoided publicly acknowledging the real problem as well. However, Adm. Mike Mullen’s attempt to walk a politically correct tightrope has landed him in hot water. Mullen decided to identify unnamed mullahs as being “uneducated” about the Qur’an and thereby responsible for poisoning their uneducated subjects who are not getting an honest interpretation of the Qur’an. Again, the implication is that there is nothing in the Qur’an that advocates violence.

As military brass continues to trip over themselves before choking on their own feet, Americans are getting increasingly angry with their political leaders for not leveling with them when it comes to this very real threat. On November 21st, highly qualified individuals will be in Killeen, TX to honor the victims of the Fort Hood massacre by telling the public what our leaders will not – the truth. Here is a commercial airing days before the memorial. The voice is that of Texas talk show host Lynn Woolley, who will also be the Emcee of the memorial.

[See above link for TV Commercial featuring Gen Boykin]

That is why, on November 21st the International Counter-Terrorism Officers Association (ICTOA) has decided to be the primary sponsor of the Forum for Middle East Understanding’s (FFMU) Fort Hood Memorial Service at the Killeen Civic Center.

Speaking at the memorial will be highly qualified men who will tell you what your country’s political and military leaders will not. Among them will be Ret. Delta Force Gen. William “Gerry” Boykin, former Muslim terrorists Walid Shoebat and Kamal Saleem, and Robert Spencer, the founder of Jihad Watch.

As the billboards for the event say, “Diversity starts with the truth.”

Caveat Emptor?

Remember Fort Hood, and the dangers of political correctness are valuables lessons. General Boykin served our nation bravely, and has the respect of men I respect. There was a passage in his book about the Iran Rescue mission, where he clearly recognized the courage of a USAF airman of Iranian decent who volunteered to go back to Iran in a high risk capacity on behalf of his new country. IMHO that implied to me the General was not the extremist the media portrayed, and the airman is an example of the strength of US diversity. If I was in the area I would go just to hear the General speak. I don't agree with the bulk of Mr. Spencer's views, but they are food for thought.

It is the other two gentlemen Saleem and Shoebat, my question are they truly " highly qualified men". Or were they in fact terrorists any more than the most recent whale turd in the Hall of Shame was an SF officer. If they were ever terrorists why weren't they ever jailed or deported, and then why pay to hear them speak? These two and another individual spoke at the Air Force Academy a few years back,

Quote:
The academy’s inclusion of three men who say they associated with Middle East terrorist groups drew criticism because the men’s message in other venues has been about evangelical Christianity. Critics also question if they were actually terrorists and, if so, why they weren’t jailed or deported.

“This is a disgrace to the academy,” said David Antoon, a 1970 academy grad and a member of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

The foundation was formed amid allegations that arose in 2004 about Christian proselytizing at the academy. The group filed a federal lawsuit last year.

Doug Howard, a professor of Middle East history at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., said he and several other academics have been researching the men since Kamal Saleem spoke at the college last fall.

“We suspect he’s a fraud,” Howard said. Howard said he’s determined Saleem’s real name is Khodor Shami, a Lebanese who immigrated as a student and worked for the Christian Broadcasting Network for 16 years starting in the late 1980s.

He was hired in 2003 at Focus on the Family, Howard said, but Howard didn’t know if he still worked there.

Focus on the Family wasn’t able to say Tuesday whether Saleem does or has worked there.

Howard said Saleem’s theme during the Calvin College appearance was an “old time revival Christian” message.

A Canadian newspaper, The Windsor Star, reported on Jan. 20, 2007, that Anani’s story as told at a Baptist church didn’t add up, according to Tom Quiggin, Canada’s only court-qualified expert on global jihadism and a former Royal Canadian Mounted Police intelligence and national security expert. Quiggin detailed times and places of the story that he said didn’t jibe with historic facts, The Star .
What are the odds these are just two guys who figured out that reformed former terrorist speaker is a profitable post 9/11 career.

I'm tired of this crap.
For a Muslim to be a good law abiding American they have to ignore, to deny, the basic tenets of Islam and Mohameds most excellent example.
When we ignore this we do it at our own peril.
Islam is NOT a secular religion it is a theopolitical creed.
It is not compatible with a Judeo/Christian based Republic.
It never will be.
Muslims that live peaceably within our Nation do so because they pervert Islam, not the radicals.

Interesting... Why wasn't Mosab Hassan Yousef deported ?

You stated that my story is fake. How about this. If I prove that it is not, and if you accept to agree to pay the Israeli Magen Daveed ambulance $100,000, I will be glad to prove beyound doubt to an agency we both agree to go to (FBI agent, Police, X-judge etc..) to examine my evidence and complete an investigation and act as a arbiter. If the arbiter concludes that I am honest and my story is true. Then you must pay the Magen Daveed ambulance the sum of $100,000.

In fact, I can also prove that we as a family have put in the family will, that upon our death, that all what I own goes to the Magen Daveed Ambulance in Israel, This to help victims of terror.

What say you? You only have two choices: either a shame on you, or put your money where your mouth is.

It's not like Doug Howard in the Gazette article doesn't have a bone to pick with evangelicals

More food for thought...

FWIW, Mikey Weinstein, Doug Howard, and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) are rabidly anti-evangelical who demand punishment of any troops who openly discuss their faith in Jesus Christ. Weinstein, Howard, and the MRFF are the ones still leading the charge to defame and discredit General William Boykin.

They are the ones who threatened Trijicon with legal action ...

My $.02

T-Rock,

I don't have a dog in this fight. It's a free country and folks are welcome to plunk down their $100 to see whatever they like. I would be happy to hear the General speak, and Mr. Spencer might be educational as well, since as Heinlein said, you never learn from a man you agree with.

The notion of hearing former terrorists speak is interesting as well, though in my mind it brings up a dilemma, specifically if a guy was a terrorist I'm not going to help him profit from this, and if he isn't what he claims well then you know what he is. I'd like to think the guys at the AF Academy thought paying for this info might help save lives.

I fully concede I did not spend more than ten minutes on this. What struck me was the nature of the objections of both the officers at the USAF Academy and the professors from other schools and speaking engagements, questioning the credibility of the speakers. They felt it was a bait and switch, instead of a lecture on terror from former terrorists they got an evangelical sermon, which is fine if that is what you signed up for. The points in the Gazette and enclosed JPost article, as well as the bile and monetary challenge ( I bet you $100k I was a terrorist in Israel) in Mr. Shoebats objection, are enough hair for me to be wary.

There are some flashy Israeli guys here in SF who teach shooting and claim to be former IDF commandos, they might be the real deal, or they might be extras from the set of the Zohan, I can't vett them, so I save my pennies for CSAT.

Just my $.02

My $00.02 as well...

Hamas front group CAIR fired the first volleys in an attempt to discredit Shoebat prior to others following suit, and since they are major critics of his, that is reason enough for me to find him credible regarding Islamic ideology.

If it turns out Shoebat is a fraud, I have faith he’ll be outed …

Why on earth would CAIR initiate a campaign to scrutinize Shoebat’s credentials?

Attacking those who bring the message, especially Weinstein & Howard’s attack on General Boykin, distracts, ignores, and obfuscates the real reasons why Nidal Hasan killed 13 and wounded 32 Kafiroon.

Nidal Hasan was an Islamic Jihadist plain and simple…too bad the Fort Hood report doesn’t reflect that…
