Battalion Regional Orientation

I know that each SFG(A) has it's own AO. (1st SEA/Pacific Islands, 3rd Africa, 5th Middle East, 7th LATAM, 10th Europe) I also understand that groups aren't bound by their regional orientation to only operate in one area, some 10th & 3rd Group guys have been in Iraq and Afghanistan, at least one ODA from 7th SFG(A) fought in Afghanistan.

But that's aside from the point, I'm just trying to illustrate I understand the Group-AO correalation/system.

I've been wondering about this but haven't been able to find any answers: would specific battalions have battalion specific AO's? 1/1 is in Okinawa, so that's pretty close to Japan and Korea, so would they speak & train Japanese & Korean, while 2d & 3d Bns trained in the Phillipines, Thailand, and wherever else? Would 1/10 in Germany speak German and train Germans, Swiss and Austrians? Would there be any other battalions that focus on a more specific region than their Group's AO or do all SF Battalions focus on a specific area inside their Group's AO?

This question stems from a guy I know (confirmed BTDT) mentioning that his ODA was oriented to Romania, he spoke Romanian and if they went overseas (which they didn't), it would have been to Romania. He said that there were 2 Greek Teams and 4 Romanian Teams in his Company. (This is coming from a 91B2S who was in B/1/5 SFG(A)in the late 70's).
