SF related question

I have a couple interested in renting my house after I PCS for Drill Sergeant duty. The wife in the couple said that her husband was in the Q-course. The realtor said he was an E-2. I thought that even a guy in the 18X program would at least be an E-4 by the time he made it that far. Am I wrong?

My son was promoted to E-3 shortly after SOPC I. Recruits who go in as 18X start off at E-3 unless they have a college degree. Those who switch to it during OSUT or BAC are whatever they earned up to that point.

I think that is possible. As recently as 2005 I know of Pvts being in the Q.

I knew a guy who was a straight private. He was walking into the JFKSWCS HQ bldg one day with his ACUs on, when a MSG stopped him. This guy is an older guy who enlisted later in life, and the MSG whispered to him, "hey bro, your rank fell off your uniform." This guy just stared at him for a second and said, apoplectically, "MSG, I don't have any rank."

LMAO. He was in the Q-course when that happened.

From my memories, being an E-2 is rarely fun, regardless of one's age!
