Legacy at Cross Creek

Any fellow current Q students living in Legacy at Cross Creek? Interested in forming kind of a social network or just some good people to hang out near home with. Also, new to the area and wondering about traffic patterns etc.
Thanks

Fayetteville

This is Fayetteville.

You can not get anywhere from where you are in a straight line.

The major road patterns were established in the 1700s. Since then everything filled in like a spider web.

Get a good city map and cruise around a few times. The Mall area is a nut house during the Christmas shopping season. Learn to cut around that area.

Thanks Pete, I'll keep that in mind. Also learned today that I will never again leave post between 5 and 6 again, no exceptions.

Reilly etc

Coming south out of Ft Bragg you have Reilly, Yadkin, AA Expressway, Bragg Blvd and the Murk.

Sometimes the fastest way somewhere is not the shortest. Picking up the Expressway by Main Post or Smoke Bomb Hill can drop you down to the Morganton, Cliffdale and Raeford Rd exits fairly quickly.

Sit down with the map, pick a few routes and then time them when you use them. Also drivers around here are real creatures of habit. A blocked entry can be empty 10 minutes later. Some are slow for long periods every day and people just put up with it.

You'll then find that you know you're running 10 minutes behind you need to use X Route into work.

I was so fortunate to live right off Ramsey road and take the Honeycutt gate. I loathed having to do uniforms or pick up some gear and doing the Yadkin shuffle. There are some nice living areas out that way, but the deal we got on renting a condo from Major Jeff in 3rd group was too good to pass up, the area was very quiet and peaceful and you really felt like you were away from the chaos of living near a bunch of stupid privates getting trashed on their porches or screaming and hollering at 2am, it comprised of mostly civilians and officers. I strongly recommend the area.
