Hello, my name is Steven Dxxxxxx. I signed an 18X contract on 12 MAY and I am currently in DEP. My ship date is 13 AUG. I entered the 18X program because it has been my dream to be a Special Forces soldier since I was young. I went to college for two years where I studied Criminal Justice. But my desire to be SF would not go away, so I went to Georgia and allowed my uncle to recruit me. I have a wife who supports my decision 100% and I am expecting a daughter at any time. My goal is to be completely prepared and reading other SF soldiers’ experiences will really help me out and give me a better understanding of the road ahead and how to better prepare myself.

You are just starting out, no last name needed- Pete

I am a Consultant working in the Northwest.
I was in the Infantry in the late 70's. At the time we called it Arctic Light Infantry.
Dumb facts:
Ice worms really do exist.
I hate being in rivers up to my neck w/snake that swim.
Don't heat rations with C4...
There are easier ways to detonate 1/4lb TNT than w/5.56 tracers...even if you have lots of them.

Introduction

I was directed here from another forum and am here to make a proper introduction.

My name is Richard, I'm a private practice veterinarian in Southern New Hampshire. My practice is primarily small animal with a few "other" thrown in. After buying my own place, I now pick and choose whom I offer service... as a result, I do a fair number of LEO K9 working dogs.

I appreciate you having me in your house and will endeavor not to embarrass myself or the Board.

In return for allowing me on board, I will offer whatever veterinary medical advice I can at the request of any Quiet Professional.

Thank you for having me here.

Hey Folks. My name is Kevin; I was born and raised in New Mexico. I appreciate this site and all who contribute, especially QP's. I signed an 18x and I ship 15 AUG. I'm thankful that I get to do my best to fulfill a life long dream. Thanks again to the QP's home and abroad for what you do.

Good day,

My name is Ray and I am a member of the KSARNG. I spent 5 1/2 years enlisted as a Cannon FDC specialist, and these last 4 years as an Infantry Officer. I am Ranger qualified, but still dirty and nasty. I did my tour in Iraq as a PL, and now I'm a Company XO. I am interested in joining the ranks of the SF, and as I am in the Guard, I am especially interested in the NG SF experience. I humbly request a PM from a QP, preferably in the COARNG, at your leisure, about past and present activities (my wife was excited, now scared, and I have some explaining to do). Thank you

Good Afternoon from lovely Fort Hood, Texas. My name is Les and I am an MP currently assigned to the WTB here. I am not now, nor have I ever been 18 series. And it looks like I never will. Sorry, just not that High Speed. I am currently undergoing a MEB for injuries to my back and legs from Iraq. I appreciate you folks letting me occupy a spot and I will endeavor not to embarrass myself while here. One reason I am here is to pick ya'lls brains about gear (I am a certified Gear Whore) what works, what does not.

Anyways, thanks again.

Les

Greetings,
I am currently a Commo SGT serving in Afghanistan with the 101st. I was recently notified that I have been accepted in to OCS and I have high hopes of one day becoming an 18A. I am here to keep my head down and acquire knowledge.

Greetings to all. I'm a Captain serving in the Army, my basic branch is Engineer. I successfully completed SFAS class 503-08 and received my branch and language assignment. I found the forum here through Google during the final phases of my preparation. The information and advice herein has been excellent and much appreciated. I anticipate remaining primarily a lurker as my scope of knowledge and experience is limited.

At present, I'm on my second tour as part of OIF, both with the 54th En Bn (and all of two weeks in, I went almost straight from SFAS to Kuwait). I completed the first as a route clearance PL.

v/r,
Dave
