US Venezuela Opn; Maduro Captured
LINK to Wash Times article
Snippet:
Quote:
The U.S. carried out major strikes in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas and captured the country’s president, Nicolas Maduro, and flew him out of the country, President Trump said early Saturday.
Mr. Maduro’s wife was also captured in the operation, Mr. Trump announced. Their whereabouts weren’t immediately clear.
Low-flying aircraft were reportedly seen flying over Caracas early Saturday after multiple explosions rang out in the city.
Details on the mission weren’t immediately disclosed. Mr. Trump said he will address the nation later Saturday morning.
“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country,” the president said on Truth Social. “This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow.”
In a brief phone interview, Mr. Trump told The New York Times that the operation involved “a lot of good planning and lot of great, great troops and great people.”
“It was a brilliant operation, actually,” the president said.

When I first read this I thought this has to be fake news but then I went out to the Daily Mail and read it and knew it must be true. They are gonna hold him in NYC isn't that where Epstein was held?

Did I miss something in the Constitution that allows POTUS to invade another country and capture it's political leaders?

“Political Leaders” that have open warrants and indictments in US Jurisdiction are totally under the prevue of DOJ and the POTUS. If Military Force is necessary to affect arrest(s) then so be it? Ask the Barbary Pirates…….. this has literally been happening since the beginning by the Men that wrote the USC……
So, yeah, it’s legal.

Actually it was a law-enforcement operation, just assisted & secured by other Federal agencies. DEA was along on the team and they actually made the arrests. Props to the smart Venezuelan air-defense weenies who didn't turn their systems on so as to not eat a HARM.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
Now, how to we put the latest broken toy back together, and who is in charge? Shouldn't we be deciding who that should be before we tear them down?
We need to nail several of these down, ASAP, with the midterms looking bad for the administration.

The mission was completed with no American casualties? Sounds like it went over much better than when we grabbed Mr. Noriega.
We got his wife too.

Yes, sort of. Look at the silver market right now. China just made exporting physical silver tightly (if not impossible) controlled. The Chinese were lined up to process Venezuelan silver ore in exchange for Yuan (not dollars).
China also is / was the primary recipient of Venezuelan oil, and since they import over 70% of their energy, it is bad news for them as well. China also wanted to pay for this oil in Yuan.
The Venezuelan drug empire consisting of large sums of cash and insurgent forces inside of CONUS were seen as a “5th column”. Not to mention having staging bases for potential future naval operations in the Western Hemisphere also greatly supported China’s interests (as well as others like Iran and Russia).
(Conspiracy hat time.). When you add the dots up, and I know it sounds kinda crazy, all of the above supported “the city of London”. The British are still butt-hurt over our little tea-party back in the 1770’s and want to see us burn. The Trump Admin has emptied the physical silver vaults at the LBMA in London. The paper contracts are getting ready to implode in violent fashion. By cutting the Venezuelan silver we further lock down the “Hard Currency” that has historically been associated with “Real Money”.
There is more to what is happening than just “CAG snatched some asshole”……..

Pretty detailed. Not your average issue of the day soy boys.
Newscasters covering Maduro in mid-town Manhattan will probably have to endure listening to these schmucks, emboldened by Mamdani.

Been watching that silver squeeze.
Opaque trading practices become not so opaque when physical demand outstrips supply.
Much of the refining capacity in the US is designed to process heavy sour crude of the type Venezuela produces.
The US produces an excess of light sweet.
Keeping export partners hooked on light sweet and refined products, as well as creating an abundance of heavy sour gives the US economic power in two directions.
Also keeps oil priced in dollars, protecting the ol’ money printer.
People can and will cry foul about war for oil to make political hay.
The reality is that economic power is power.
If the US maintains a power advantage over adversaries, the world is a more peaceful place for everyone.
Not perfect, but better nonetheless.
The US crossed the threshold of being a net exporter of petroleum + petroleum products during the pandemic and hasn’t looked back since.
(Also a net exporter of natural gas and coal.)
Petroleum + petroleum products net imports:

That old saying: "If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best" might apply here. Trump's presidential idol wasn't just the king of the golden age economics, he also annexed or acquired Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam and The Philippines. So I would guess there is more work to be done.
Was the operation legal? I consulted Hoyle's Rules of games, The Hinkler version of course, by far the most comprehensive and the one acknowledged by the vast majority of countries with international disputes. On page 577, it clearly states that in games of winner takes all, the declared winner decides what is legal and what is not.
I wonder if Trumplandia.com is already taken?
