The Epstein Files

Conspiracy theories can be difficult to control. Kind of like herding cats. The key to a good conspiracy theory is similar to successful marketing and propaganda campaigns. Find a simple message that resonates with your target audience and repeat it over and over and over until people buy into it.

Did the so called files exist? The guy recorded a lot of people. So it certainly seems plausible at first glance. The problem has always been the theory implies that he just recorded immoral, unethical sexual deviants who only vote a certain way. Not plausible.

A lot of people became internet famous pushing this and other conspiracy theories the last few years. It seems some of them forgot the reason they were pushing it in the first place. Either that or they succumbed to some self hypnosis. Watching these fine people suddenly turn on each other publicly warms my bony little heart.

Yeah, it wasn't about party, it's about position/station in life and, thus, "value." Maxwell's attorney probably has her contact list. She is (again) volunteering to testify as her sentence appeal wends its way to the SCOTUS. No one - and I mean NO one - seems to want to take her up on it. Twitchy bait fish out there.

Honestly, I couldn't care less if there are files or not. And I care even less how he was dispatched. The guy was a D-Bag. Good riddance.

Maybe you are right about station, but from my view this has been used as a political football from day one. My issue is with the influencers that spew the BS. They have no accountability for the crap they push, but an outsized impact on the outcomes of these issues. It's good to see some of them squirm.

Of course, the real problem is they won't always be satisfied being king makers.

For those who read the Harry Potter books, or have kids who read them, Epstein was basically a somewhat sleazier Horace Slughorn. Slughorn was a character who made himself valuable by cultivating networks. People came to his parties to meet the other famous people he was able to get to come.

The problem to me with the so-called Epstein files is that plenty of people took advantage of this opportunity for normal reasons - if celebrity X wanted to meet politician Y, an Epstein party was the perfect opportunity. Some just went to a Manhattan party, some took advantage of his offers of jet flights to get a free trip and mingle with famous people, and some went all the way and indulged in the delights of his island.

So, what you end up with is a list which is highly prejudicial, since the implication has been that anyone named in the files is guilty of the worst alleged offenses, but a list which includes many people who only interacted with Epstein on the periphery, like President Trump himself. I suspect they were trying to cull the lists to separate the "good" from the "bad", but realized it would not be possible, and they realized that releasing the whole list would damage a fair number of innocent people. And at the end of the day, that still wouldn't make some people happy, because there are still some searching for proof of their own conspiracy theories, such as that Epstein and/or Maxwell were assets of [insert country]'s foreign intelligence service.

The Dems want something on T.... anything.

I will guarantee there is nothing on the President in any file or list. If there had been this would have been 'leaked' by the last admin. prior to the election.

No doubt in my military mind given the ends they went to (legal and illegal) to stop his momentum.

I seem to recall bipartisan support for keeping secret Madame Heidi Fleiss' list implicating some pretty influential people, including one Senator (D., NY) Charles Schumer.

I wonder if he is as concerned about this one?

Schuck Chumer seems like the kind of guy that would zealously touch people he shouldn't be touching in places where they shouldn't be touched...

Seems strange to me how unconcerned people are about finding out exactly how many, if any, children (or adults) were trafficked or sexually abused by Epstein and/or his clients.

I'm sure there's no "client list" per se, but apparently there's plenty of damning video evidence that can be used to identify the parties being videoed.

After all, didn't the government use videos to identify a lot of the J6 insurrectionists?

The problem is finding a willing victim to come forward from which you can base a prosecution. I'm sure there is video from all sorts of escapades on that Island. However, finding someone who was allegedly "trafficked" and/or raped and getting them to go public in this zoo of an atmosphere to support a prosecution would be difficult.

Also, you just can't put the video's out into the public sphere. The alleged victims have privacy rights they may not be willing to give up. Same/same any "lists" out of this fiasco. Imagine your name popping on a "list" and then being besieged by the paparazzi when you did nothing wrong other than to have his name in your social calendar.

There's a lot of issues here and not as easy as it some would have it appear.

Nice, with a bow on it.
