From last night's Congressional Baseball game.
Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla on hitting out-of-the-park home run..

TPOTUS owned.
Not to mention that, when someone connects like that, it is a very recognizable sound that anyone familiar with baseball knows. Heads turn, conversation stops. That is too elegant.

I made lemonade - and NOT because life gave me lemons...
...because I'm smart enough to invest in sugar.
All these fucking idiots making lemonade out of "lifes lemons" are just fooling themselves - lemonade without sugar tastes like shit.
Invest in some fucking sugar people !!!

I had a buddy stop by with a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle, a bottle of Stagg, a couple of Weller's, and an appetite for large pours. I countered with an Old Forester 12 y/o Birthday Bourbon and a Basil Hayden Toast.
Good times!

Happy Birthday COL Anderson
A gentleman whose career I've researched & followed is 100 years young today!
COL (Ret) C.E. "Bud" Anderson, USAAF/USAF. He and Chuck Yeager eventually became close friends and Yeager still called him probably the best natural pilot he's ever met. I remain grateful for the copy of his book "To Fly and Fight" that he autographed for me. It's a worthwhile read & goes way beyond having come home from Europe as a 22-yr old Major. Covers his test work, squadron command, and service in Viet Nam.
He's always had a keen sense of holding onto history and has an amazing collection of photos & some videos at his website here.
The kind of men those were is exemplified by a comment he'd made when someone had asked him if he was ever scared:
"I was a farm kid from northern California who'd learned how to fly. Hey! They made me an officer! And they gave me this big, beautiful plane to fly...
Scared? Hell no, I was having the time of my life."
Salud!

Saw him at the Chino Airport during The Planes of Fame airshow in '19 and he was signing autographs. Didn't realize how old he was. He looked great.

When I was in 'Nam, my Infantry company was taking such heavy casualties that I stopped making entries in my daily log , and short timers calendar.
I was so depressed after I was wounded the third time that I just set down with a prayer and just asked God to let me see the sun come up tomorrow, just one more day.
Since that day in 1969, I just give thanks to God everyday when I see the sun come up.
My happy thought is just watching the sun come up one more day, because that's all God has promised us this day, nothing more.

Mid-January celebrated my 80th birthday and my 55 wedding anniversary.
Wife still deserves credit for both
Life is good (and interesting)
