There are now at least two new variants that are oddly named for where they were discovered...the UK (United Kingdom) virus...and the South African virus that spread more easily. But don’t call it the Chinese or Wuhan virus because that is racist!

Also, according to the CDC now, you can avoid self quarantine if you have been vaccinated, even though you may test positive and be a host (carrier) of the virus. Also, they believe that the vaccines may not be effective against one of the new strains but don’t worry they are still evaluating things as they move forward with “The Biden vaccination program.” You will soon have to be vaccinated to travel on commercial airlines and show your “papers” to perform any government related access.

Kids can safely return to school “at least one day per week” in some areas without causing a super spreader event - unlike the Super Bowl! According to the CDC and the teacher’s union. (My kid and several thousand other children in Texas have been attending regular school five days a week since September and there have been only a few positive students and teachers who have all returned to class a couple weeks later. Only masks are worn by all, no plexiglass cubicles, no social distancing being enforced and the school didn’t spend any extra money on new HVAC systems.)

Yes, the virus is real, I don’t deny that, but it is also not as deadly as has been reported to be unless you have a compromised or over-worked vascular or respiratory disease. And if you did and your doctor put you on Hydroxychloroquine or Ivermectin, zink and steroidal anti-inflammatories early in the process you would likely be just fine and have flu like symptoms for a few days at home.

The medical malpractice lawsuits that will come from this should be staggering and make those commercials for asbestos and Round-Up seem like insignificant distractions.

Yes, the virus is real. Three men in my church in the age group 62-72 have died in the past two months "of Covid". All three had underlying conditions - two asthma and one with cancer.
My ex-boss died in mid-January of a heart attack after being released from hospital with Covid.
All of these are "Covid deaths."
I know no one who has died solely from Covid.

Between this thread and the military attacking its Warriors for "signs and symbols" thread, I couldn't be happier that I am retired and can now act as my own HR and Complaint Department. The heavy pressure is coming down from above. I am currently working an OCONUS job at a .gov facility and the word coming down is that you will soon have to have the vaccine in order to enter a .gov building.
While it is still voluntary, one of our higher up .gov chiefs has put out that he wants a 100% participation.

Guess we'll see how the ball rolls as I know the majority of my clan has declined to participate at this point.
