I spent a good amount of time over there (multiple tours) during the
cold war & describing that contrast, using only 2-3 things in our BoR, always derailed the best social-justice argument by the draft-dodg.... er, the students at the Frei Universitat. I value & cherish my time over there, places & people both. But in my vintage years now I believe they simply want to be led or taken care of. And Merkel can get 'em the rest of the way to the precipice most rikki-tik if allowed to do so.
