No kidding, that's really neat. That's the kind of thing that can become an heirloom.

Off To Alaska

I wish it were me but sending out a large order to soldiers in Alaska. They created a bank account pooled their money and ordered the pieces they wanted to use for train ups. Appreciate the initiative very much and pleased to send our cold weather pieces into the cold

G1 8oz BTR Liners with zips ( breathable thermal reflective [ developed by NASA for space]) these protect from the outside elements and harness your own warmth for sub zero protection. Also a few 8oz Liners as well. Shots of some of it before packing.

Neighbor might be trainable after all. He'd acquired nice old 8HP blower (free) & got it running, but couldn't see how to get it marching along with the blades moving. Showed him a couple days ago the BIG FREAKIN' LEVER on the other side labelled "Clutch." As I tweaked a lower back muscle yesterday it was most welcome to find that he was now enjoying the blower so much that he plowed out my drive (entrance to which the town had done in x4 in their OCD about a school/ambulance route).

From this FOG's perspective: Ho Ho Ho.
(might have to get one of them things)

Smile Veteran Only Parking

Went out for the, "Once a year shopping trip", at the mall...and survived to take a picture of something not seen before!

Reserved parking for Veteran's!

Very cool, IMHO. Now if they could just put even more in...

My happy thought is having my bags packed in the truck and will be heading to the airport at 0345. Ready for shorts and flip flops for the holidays into the jungle.....

Just saw some pics and video of a good friend getting pinned CW4.
Seems like just yesterday we were seeing him off to be enlisted.

He's dedicated much of his life to the Army, much (if not most) of his career has been spent stationed overseas or deployed.
It's nice to see his service rewarded.

Brother and family arrived safely last night.

My folks will be on the ground in 3 hours.

Looking forward to having the family together for the holidays.

Been a long path to where I am, but finally have the bags packed and ready to head out to the dark continent for a while.

After watching the World Series, then the election, then the electoral college take votes from Hillary, and the near constant stream of tears from democrats over the last few months, I had the following epiphany today........

Somewhere there is a devout Cleveland Indians fan that voted for Hillary and in just a few weeks, that same person is going to have to watch their favorite football team lose the Super Bowl.......

...my wife said to me, "what? whats so funny? what are you smiling about?"
