Wouldn't have made the news in Arkansas - unless there was a shortage in the meat section at the Winn-Dixie or Food Lion, of course.

Pre-flattened, even.

I wish I had known about this. I have a trapping license here in California. I have caught about 20 raccoons over the last year...

“The way it’s packaged in the store, it’s so real, and it’s so fresh, and you don’t see chickens with their feathers and blood all over them, and their expression, with their tongue hanging out,” Dow said"

The way they are described makes one think that there is not a lot of prep done to the carcass prior to freezing. That really cuts down on overhead and they can still get $9.99 a pound. Then again they are not all that handsome without their coats. If you like dark meat this is the critter for you, at least that is what grandma always said.

I suspect that "keepin' it real" as far as freezing "as is" with little to no processing also allows the buyer to know exactly what they are getting...and not getting...possum or something domesticated...ruff...meow...

Damn L.A. Yuppies never been to Chinatown or Little Italy back in the day...everything imaginable hung from some windows.
