Her father, Ben Chambers, said investigators told him his daughter was set on fire.

"When the fire department got there, she was walking down the road on fire," he said. "Only part of her body that wasn't burned was the bottom of her feet."

He continued as he held back tears, "They squirted lighter fluid down her throat and in her nose, and apparently they knocked her out. She had a big gash on top of her head."

I think medieval torture methods need to be reinstated if they ever find out who did this. Not the CIA "torture methods", but hardcore Iron Maidens, Judas Cradles, Pear of Anguish, Heretics Fork, and especially the Brazen Bull. It should also be televised worldwide.

This is a pretty gruesome way to kill someone and in such a rural location of a person so well liked with no known enemies.

I'd really like to know what the police know and why they think this is a homicide, and not single vehicle accident with a horrible outcome.

There's plenty of motive if you look into this a bit. She was dating a young man of "color" who had issues with violence. She purportedly was trying to break it off with him and feared him. He purportedly had issues with "letting her go". The young man was no stranger to the authorities.

In cases like these, the profilers are pretty freakin' accurate as to who may have done something like this. It was a gruesome crime rooted in personal emotion and hatred. There apparently was no "randomness" associated with this as it was designed to go much further than routine killing or maiming. This was personal. Who would have had a stake in making this so "personal"...?

If I had to guess random or not random rape and murder with fire to get rid of evidence ie why fire in mouth. Seen that before. Lots of sick animals out there. Oh, I agree there are some real sick bastiges out there but you don't (intentionally) leave all the evidence in your own backyard or alive as the case may be.

I believe she was meeting someone, possibly at the gas station. And I think the burns inside her mouth, nose and throat are inhalation related. I don't think lighter fluid was squirted in her mouth.

Panola County isn't far from my hometown. This just started making headlines. It seems that someone is trying to profit from this tragedy. If true, I say add them to the list.

Possible scammer takes advantage of Jessica Chambers tragedy

PANOLA CO, MS (WMC) -
A possible scammer is taking advantage of a Mid-South tragedy, as the investigation into the murder of Panola County teen Jessica Chambers enters its fifth day.

The 19-year-old was burned alive over the weekend in Courtland, Mississippi and now, someone is trying to use the family's pain to make a quick buck.

Jessica's sister, Amanda Prince, set up the Facebook page, "Justice for Jessica," in memory of her sister and in hopes of turning up leads for investigators.

She posted screen shots to the Justice for Jessica page around 2 a.m. Thursday, asking supporters not to donate to the Give Forward account in Jessica's name, saying the family does not know the creator of the account and that it is a scam.

If you wish to donate to the family, a legitimate GoFundMe account was started to help the family with expenses.
