Delivered some ammunition today...to a church.
The pastor jogged out immediately upon my arrival and took possession of his package with a big smile.
God bless Arizona.

Memorabilia
The grandson got into a box while visiting, found some stuff that I thought I'd share.

I have several today.
I'm at Ft. Bragg, home of the Airborne and Special Forces....There are a great deal of outstanding people here. I've only met a fraction of a percent of them.
A while back at Tucker, I saw a longish haired amputee in better shape than I...These men are a source of inspiration. Not making excuses, and still willing to fight and not make excuses for physical fitness or lack thereof.
I have a loyal wife who is thoroughly amazing and understanding.
The people who make this site great, who will respond to well thought out intelligent questions, and correct ignorance...and demonstrate very effective measures on those who are jacked up like phallic cancer. There is an education here for certain.
My cup overflows...

After the first KA-POW, the cacophony that is a firing line falls silent as seven more KA-POWs follow - ending with a distinct... and unique ting.

Love my job.
Among the places UPS has paid me to visit have been deliveries to remote areas in the 4 corners region, way off the beaten path near Monument Valley, on back roads near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, residences bordering the Grand Staircase Escalante monument, residences hidden beyond Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, and Naatsis'áán (Navajo Mountain).
Delivered to one of the more remote houses near Navajo Mountain on Thursday.
There are no addresses up there, so you just have to ask directions and learn where people live.
Hadn't delivered to this particular house for a few years, so I double checked with someone at the clinic before heading down the road.
I asked: "the last one on the left?" and the lady responded: "yeah, all the way down the road, but don't drive off the cliff; if you drive off the cliff, you've gone too far."
Her "drive off the cliff" statement wasn't a joke.
The road cuts through an escarpment and works its way down towards the lake.
This particular house is probably around 170 driving miles from the nearest freeway.
(37 degrees 5'11" N by 110 degrees 41'57" E)
Often get to see some neat places and still come home every night.

Springtime!!!
Time for spring cleaning and enjoying warmer weather.
Sold one of my Suburbans and one of my boats (still need to sell one of my motorcycles and a van).
Started cleaning up the yard, got the pickup truck running, and took the first of many loads to the dump.
Celebrated by spending the afternoon at Lone Rock Beach.
The kids (aged 6, 8, 11, 13) played catch and dug in the sand while the dog swam and my wife went for a paddle on the kayak.
Life is good.

I have a fondness for UPS drivers. Do all you drivers love your jobs?
Ten years ago, when my oldest was in kindergarten, I would wait with him at the end of our long wooded driveway every morning for the bus. If it was winter, we waited in the heated vehicle, if it was pleasant, we walked the .10 mile to the road. We live on a very rural road, but the UPS guy frequently makes deliveries and he would wave to us each time he passed by. Eventually he would wave to us if we passed each other driving along the road.
Ten years later and he still waves if we pass on the road, even though we no longer wait for a bus.
Two things strike me - he's been at his job at least ten years. And he must enjoy it, for he knows the people along his route and cares enough to wave at them like old friends. His wave often makes my day and reminds me that kindness can be a very simple act.

45 Years
Today makes 45 years with the same woman.
She is a good one.....think I'll keep her!
I must have gotten on her nerves this morning.....she said she was going into town.
I told her if she was planning on running away, to leave the car somewhere in town and call me so I'd know where to find it.
