Retired

Some things have changed since '69, some never will.
Time for a small radio, a key & some wire & camping, and crossing the eyes on more bass. I've been told the dawn cup of coffee tastes better; dunno, gotta go cut the grass before the daily storms come in.

I have many blessings.

It's Friday. The sun is shining.
I have a warm bed, good food and clean water. I have a decent job, a handful of close friends, and a loving family.

This makes me richer than any of Wall St.'s wealthiest.

My father, a genuine musician sent this to me. He has never been known to be, "Wow'ed" by Armatures,( trust me), but this just took the cake,,,and I agree, it really is an amazing arrangement of a beautiful piece of music....Featuring a Puerto Rican, a Korean, and a guy from NYC...The trio is called Forte, and the song they sang was Pie Jesu.

Swearing In....

Today, I finally took the oath of enlistment. I ship out very soon and it is one goal, of many, that I've begged to achieve for so long. Tonight, I raise a glass....and tomorrow, I hit the ground hard as I continue to train down the path. To those of you that have done nothing more than offer encouragement, I thank you. And to the rest of you that have offered wisdom, I appreciate and salute you.

Going gray for a while, now.

Thank you! I'll take it in stride, then smoke them on the PT tests!

Have the bike all loaded up and as soon as the wife gets off work we are headed to explore North Dakota for the next 10 days. I am so looking forward to that! Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July.

36 Cheap American Beers, Ranked

I realize you're going to spend Independence Day happily drinking whatever cold adult beverage you're served, because you're polite and you're an alcoholic.

And I trust you'll have a fine old time no matter what you drink.

But that doesn't mean America's shit brews are all the same.

The list below breaks down 36 of them, from worst to least-worst.

My nephew made it through Basic, InDoc, and BUDS and is now undergoing SEAL training.

Congrats, Sam! Just remember, yesterday was the last easy day and go for it.
