Grammar Lesson

A girl from Georgia and a girl from the west coast were seated side by side on an airplane.

The girl from Georgia, being friendly and all, said, "So, where y'all from?"

The west coast girl said, "From a place where they know better than to use a preposition at the end of a sentence."

The girl from Georgia sat quietly for a few moments and then in her Sweetest Southern Accent replied:
"So, where y'all from, bitch?"

Great one! But, NDD - I'm supposing the spelling of 'grammer' was part of the joke. Si, mi hermano?

It's NDD, of course it is part of the joke.

Good joke too.

Jeez, Bill - you're not even letting me get my dig in on NDD, chief of the grammar and spelling police.

I see the Southern spelling was a waste with some of the audience. Never mind, I fixed it.

Punctuation makes a difference as well...

"Let's eat Grandma" is much different than "Let's eat, Grandma".

This is also came up on another forum I frequent. In this version of the same study, you can plug in a city and see how certain words are pronounced.

During election time here in Alaska, we ferret out the Outside interests, those who blanket the airwaves with political ads "seemingly" for and by Alaskans, by the way they pronounce certain Alaskan words. You can spot a fake every time. Knowing and speaking the local dialect is important.
