I try not too post in this section very often due to the fact that I do not feel my words come together succinctly enough to describe the gratitude I feel is owed to men like him, and you all for what you sacrifice to make this nation the great place that it is. Joe's post summed up the sorrow I feel when men like Chief Mullen give the ultimate sacrifice to defend a nation that could care less anymore. It's the family, friends, and teammates that feel this the most, and my condolences are out for all of you. Rest well now Sir, and know my thoughts and prayers are with you and those whom you loved. Thank you.

When Sean showed up to the Company I had been around for several years, and tried to help get him integrated into the unit. I quickly realized that Sean didn't need any help and that he had far more to teach me than I had to teach him. Sean and I for years talked regularly about all kinds of professisonal issues. I can't remember a single time that I knew more than he did on a given topic. Be it tactics, airborne operations, leadership, or other more specific SOF skills, Sean knew more than I did.

Sean talked to subordinates and superiors alike with the same candor and professionalism. Once I became a Team Sergeant I would regularly ask for Seans advice when I had a problem. When I had to help run a unit Jumpmaster course, I went through almost two months of getting ready along with all of the other instructors so that we had our shit together and were fully prepared to instruct others in JM tasks. When I ran into Sean and talked to him about something course related, he (off the cuff) knew more about it than me.

I immensely respect Sean as both a Soldier and a man. He is one of the better men I have known in both life and the Regiment. I am deeply saddened by his death and will miss his friendship. God speed buddy.
