A bottle of Evan Williams eggnog, a tall glass, and a warm fire.

Last Christmas I was done in by something called a Moscow mule. It's Vodka Ginger Beer or spicy bitey Ginger Ale and Lime Juice. I seem to recall it went down great and then, well there was some falling down and stuff.

I'll be on a different train this year. Something low speed and high drag with easy on and off ramps.

I like the above eggnog recipe. Well maybe not a bottle but a glass would be nice.

Tom & Jerry

My favorite:

Quote:
Tom and Jerry Batter

Beat 6 egg yolks for approximately 10 minutes until good and stiff. Pour in 1 pound confectioners' sugar slowly (keeping back 1/2 cup from the pound) and 1 teaspoon nutmeg. Beat until well mixed. Set aside.

Beat the 6 egg whites until stiff and fluffy. Add the reserved 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar. Fold the two mixtures together gently.

To use, heat 1/2 water and 1/2 milk and pour into heated mugs with a jigger of rum or brandy, a heaping teaspoon batter and a dash of nutmeg. Stir and serve.

You can store the remainder in a covered glass container in the refrigerator, but it is not quite as good if left for over 24 hours.
Trader Vic made a batter which you could find in the dairy section. There is also a blend of Rum/Brandy which is good and much less expensive than expensive brandy.

CHEERS!!

Is that just for Christmas?

I hope the tumbler is the only holiday requirement, or I have been drinking Christmas drinks out of season.

My mom used to tell me that if I wished hard enough, every day could be Christmas.

If it's not Christmasy enough for you, try putting on one of those Santa hats.

Better yet, you could dress like Winthorpe on his Trading Places bender . . .

I find the salmon in the beard to be a bit much.

The pistol is a nice touch, though.

LOL -- I imagine you have a number of suggestions for improvement. Quality, quantity, and method of carry, for example.

Something simple, Chamborg and 7Up, on crushed ice.

Awright, here it is and nobody ever believes me, THE Christmas Knifemaking drink for after the work is done.

This drink is best served in the black of night when the snow is driving sideways. When I say black, I mean country black, no city lights. This way if you lie down in the snow to take a nap while trekking back to the house from the shop, it will be a peaceful and undisturbed rest.

Tall glass full of big chunks of ice, best if you break the icicles off the north side of the shop where the gutter gets jammed up and they are easy to reach. Don't go up the ladder at night if you don't have to.

Best quality of gold tequila you can get, at least two full ounces if not a trace more, this is a knife shop, not some... well you kids know what I mean..

Fill the rest of the glass with good eggnog! Stir with whatevers close, just make sure the blade wasn't quenched in oil. Don't use the axe handle, it's too big and makes a mess.

This one is so smooth...One taste of this and you feel sorry for all those who haven't had a Tequila Eggnog, Knifemaker style.

So much for my high drag low speed idea.

Tequila eggnog.

Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad!
