Dempsey: Combat Ban Contributed to Sexual Assault Problem
http://freebeacon.com/dempsey-combat...sault-problem/
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey said Thursday he believes the ban on women in combat positions contributed to the military’s current sexual assault problem.
“We’ve had this ongoing issue with sexual harassment, sexual assault. I believe it’s because we’ve had separate classes of military personnel–at some level,” Dempsey said at a joint press conference with Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to formally announce the ban has been lifted.
Huh?

The man just keeps saying things that are more insane than his last utterance. This is the best the Army can do....?? We're doomed.

Damn. This is what happens when politics takes precedence over duty. Its time to finalize the PACE plan. By the time this administration and its lapdogs have finished dismantling the constitution, the military, the economy, and the moral structure of the country, there won't be anything left to resist with; the barbarians will be at the gates.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

You may recall a recent movie about the siege of Stalingrad which was entitled "Enemy at the Gates." In our present situation we find that the enemy is not at the gates, but rather well within them. These goblins who blew up the skyscrapers were well inside. It is time we went looking for them at their point of origin. - Jeff Cooper

This is the sort of military leadership that the POTUS selects.
Had I been fortunate enough to get that far, I would have been on a clip earlier in the day, at my retirement. They aren't going to make him an O-11.

I guess it is ok if those you are leading loose faith in you, as long as you don't loose the faith of your leadership ala Dempsey.
I think most true leaders would rather have it the Mattis way. Those he leads will never loose faith in him, but he is getting shitcanned because the POTUS lost faith in him.
My dad always taught me that if you take care of the troops and are a good leader, that is your reward. Although what your leadership thinks of you is important, it isn't as important as your troops knowing you have their backs.

And that's exactly what is expected of leadership and what those you lead deserve.
And with that concept in mind and GEN Dempsey's latest flatulent public opining, GEN Welsh's "12 Days of December" Air Force-wide inspections for "offensive, inappropriate, or pornographic" materials...such as World War II-era airplane nose art depicting fully clothed but "promiscuous" women ...shows it's not just a single service issue out there.
And so it goes...

Dempsey has proven himself an idiot of late....a total f*ck job.
BTW, a simple observation.
If women are mens physical combat equals then why are they getting sexually assaulted? Why don't they just fight their way out as a guy would do?
Not trying to trivialize but just pointing out the obvious.

That is the crutch of the whole argument, and BTW, the whole issue of trying to raise boys today. On the one hand hollywood will have me believe that women can kick ass and take on 20 men at once and walk away without smudging their lipstick. The current DoD leadership tells me almost the same thing yet I have to "change the culture" and treat women special. BTW their PT performance does not need to be the same as a man's because they are putting out the same effort if not the same result. Then I am told I have to raise my boys to treat women with kid gloves, but they are equal, but they have to be treated different, but you must treat them the same, but make allowances and change your culture, but we won't change the standards, etc....

BTW. Notice that neither Dempsey nor Odierno ever served in the Infantry or earned a Ranger tab.
