Just wanted to thank you Sir.

Just got the book finished it in 2days, Bncoc kept getting in my way. Very good read answered alot of questions and give me a ton more.

Very greatful for the reading list, already told my wife about the some of the ones dealing with life in SF to help her and myself get a better understanding of the path I wish to start down.

Next plan is to reread and highlight key points for faster reference.

again thank you Sir, for your service and help

Just got mine today and finished it today. I have this to say. TO EVERYONE!!! 18X, Rep-63, SF Maybes. after you read this book, If you have any and I mean ANY!!! Questions that are'nt covered in this book and here and on another site, and you ask a question that isnt covered in this book or here then all I can say is "Cast or Tab" there should be no questions (Maybe Its me lol)

W-M Sir,

I this book is a read through again and again I have less than 60 days before I ship and I cant tell you how much chapters 3-1 through well 10-1!! were just a wealth of info. I can even say that if you get this book and someone has a question (Not something like "What if I have 1 kidney") Read and read again. this book is awesome and I thank you from the bottom of my boots (hehe) for this.

from my perspective...

got the book, read it...#1, the goddam thing was written 30 years to late for me...i would advise any prospective SF soldier to read Brad Handy's comments on the back cover...there are a lot of guys who went before without this book, without SOPC, without a screening process before enlistment...the odds were not good for a guy to go from High School to SF, but there are many among our numbers who did...thus, if you prepare yourself, if you avail yourself of the programs and training opportunities available, success is within your grasp...WM beats that point in quite effectively...

#2 when i was in SFQC, we basically free-based tincture benzoin...i never had a blister...but i hardly ever have blisters, anyway...it is a forbidden item on the packing list...i guess after some research, someone figured the benefits were greatly oversold...i won't argue the point, so read chapters 7 and 8 often...read them until you are qualified...by then, the lessons in those chapters should be old hat...

#3 i guess you need to bone up on the Ranger Creed...if an instructor mentions something more than once, it's going to be very important...WM recommends a paragraph a night, then recommends daily recitation once initial mastery is achieved...i don't know if he picked that up in Harmony Church (the only place i did that much reading of the Ranger Creed), but he's on to something (i just don't know what it is)...

my analysis...the book is a tool...tools kept in the shed do no work...if the damn book ain't wore out when you show up for SFAS, you've probably screwed the pooch...if the book is worn out, but your boots aren't broken in, shame on you...if the book is in tatters but you are not in shape...the bus for the 82nd will take you there...

i don't know why, but don't ask WM why a calf stretch prevents shin splints...he says he doesn't know...(i think he's holding out on you guys... )

well done...it takes quite a bit of effort to synthesize that much information into something a guy can read in a short time, yet still provide enough information to get someone through the intial selection process...once again, from where i sit, it's a good job...

Get Selected for Special Forces

lksteve comments reminded of a young man in my Branch class. He made me think of a puppy that got turned lose in a playground full of children. Seems like I got stuck with this young stud everytime we were in the field. At times I felt like shouting HEEL Rags.

Thumbs up Over $10,000 Donated and Going Strong!

Wow!

I just got off the phone with the Warrior Foundation.

Dow said we've successfully raised over $10,000!

We're now officially past the half way mark to funding our first scholarship by raising over $20,000. Not bad huh?

Thanks for all the support from everyone here. You've done a great job getting the word out there.

Thanks for the Mentoring

I'm sure you receive as many of these as you do books that you send out, but....

Just flew back from LA this afternoon. Found GET SELECTED waiting for me. Just finished reading it; and will now take the pleasure of reading it thru again with a notepad!

It almost goes with out saying how much all of us appreciate the information you provide in the book. Thank-you to you both for going above and beyond, and serving those of us who aren’t even officially active yet. This book will / has already added to the knowledge base I need to make the most of my SFAS class.

See you 'Q side'

Gentlemen-

I would like to thank the two of you for writing such an informative book. I was told of this books existance last week by a friend who just recently attended SFAS and was selected. He recommended the book to me and I went and picked it up at the PX. I acctually read the whole thing in 1 sitting. Very informative, and reassuring. I knew 80% of the stuff in the book, but the example of PT program, tips on footcare as well as boots was worth the 15 bucks I paid for it. Thank you and I hope to use your book more in the future.

Though I have never been to SFAS, and I have zero credibility, I do however recommend this book due to the fact it builds confidence and answers a lot of mediocre questions that should never be asked here. Plus the royalties are for a great cause.

This book is exactly what I was missing. After all the reading I have done I still had questions, but this book filled all the small gaps that remained. Thank you Warrior-Mentor for taking the time and producing such a helpful product. CAST or TAB!

Thumbs up Quick Update

Been a while since been on here, but wanted to let you know that GET SELECTED raised another $50,000 this year for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation this year...bringing the TOTAL RAISED since publication to just over $340,000.

Most of that is due this website in particular helping raise awareness of this valuable training tool and the great cause it supports.

Thanks!
WM
