When I looked at the preview of my last post and saw my THREE smilies coupled with PedOncoDoc's ONE, I was immediately reminded of Big Teddy... and how much I miss him here.
The sadness only lasted a second or two, and then a flood of good memories from his many humorous (or attempts at humorous) posts, as well as some of his "senior moments" replaced them. How I wish I could have met him in person.

Ya know ZD .... you really know how to take the wind out of someones sails.
Here I am, enjoying a nice 65 degree sunny day, here in the Mile High city, thoughts of beautiful Asian women running through my head, coffee, Asian women getting coffee .....
And then you post this ....

I miss the 'Ol Walrus too, and with Da Bears being 7-1, he'd have been loving life right, even more now.
Thanks Pal (ZD).

By L.A. standards, conditions were arctic (it was under 80 degrees F.)
Can we get something settled once and for all? I'm not OCD--I'm not--absolutely, flatly not. (Would a person with ODC have sat on the wrong side of the table, i.e., his back to the door, at two different establishments? No. See.)
But if I were OCD, I did a good job of hiding the evidence. - I arrived plenty early to do those common sense things--three times-- that look like OCD to the untrained eye.
- ZD only saw two of the three jackets I had. (Because it might have snowed.)
- He didn't see the post its, nor the extra pens, nor the bottle of Purell, nor the three Moleskine notebooks, nor the back up library card.
I'm glad that's settled.

There's proof! Would a person with OCD not have corrected that error?
The ONLY reason you sat with your back to the door in all establishments was that this old man is still pretty quick at avoiding the "Wild Bill" Hickok chair! (Or... you were just being polite.)

No, those remain safely hidden behind a back up form of photo identification in a way that they balance out a back up key in case I do a Peter Griffin << LINK>>.

My 12 year-old finished the week-long basketball tryouts and made the team.
He's homeschooled, but state law allows him to try out for the local school's team.
It probably helps that he's over 5'9" barefoot, has arms and legs longer than mine (at 6'2"), has a flat-footed reach of 7'8", and is the only player at tryouts who can jump up and touch the backboard.
Also plays good defense and rebounds well.
Interesting years to come.

Oooo, I wonder .... if you put a cell phone in a water tight bag, and took it diving with you, would you be able to get a signal at depth ????

Parrotfish can make a lot of noise while crunching coral! And those banded cleaner shrimp make that loud clicking noise.
But you're right... I love hearing mainly the noise from in inhalation and exhalation - along with bubbles.
"I pity the fool" who dives around me with one of those full-face, talking masks!

MRFL made me help her clean out the boxes in the garage. Yuck, I'd rather mow the lawn (which I did, twice . . . Looks like an outfield). Alas I could not drag mowing out long enough.
Open a box . . . Amoung other things there is an old Green Beret from 25 years ago. An old Bancroft with the liner cut out. Still in a sealed zip-lock and still "pocket folded".
Gave it a little shake and a stretch and placed it on my head -- fit perfectly. I thought I heard it whisper, "let's go."
MRFL looks over at me and says, " oh just take that box inside and empty it out. You're not gonna be much help now."
Man oh man!!!

Yes I have a dry bag and no it does not get signal under water. Yes I have looked.
It was a very quiet set of dives. 205 min total time of phone free relaxing forget all the stupidity of work and personal drama.
Problem was as soon as I was topside a group in the office was having a meltdown and I had to go in. I am hoping the water is clear this morning for another session of relaxation therapy. The storm last nit may have mucked up the visability.

Got a double dose today:
1. Found out my wife will be able to come for Thanksgiving (she's on AD in NYC), but alas I have to really clean the house to pass inspection.
2. Our daughter won the Florida State Spelling Bee for christian schools.
