Software platform ('Palantir') left out of standard budget.

I would imagine that, just like ALL military programs, everyone has got to get their hands in it and screw it all up.

Just like "SOF".
If this program can really show likely trends on IED placement, time to get on it. If they need jusitification, do a study on how much is spent, healing and rehabbing a soldier with multiple amputations as compared to getting this purchased and implemented......

Palantir is nothing more than a analysis tool. It takes a person to do the work. The biggest problem is if the information is crap the output is crap. Palintir is easier than ANB but it's still the information.
Sad to see this not get funded. Most likely power pull in the belt line (DC).

It IS being funded, but not as a stand alone product. I will just say that there ARE problems with the vendor as well.
I will add that Palentir has some strong lobbyists on their side and this is just like many puff pieces that were put out about the product a few years ago.
"Military won't buy AWESOME product to save soldier lives" "BAD MILITARY won't help their own soldiers" "No price too high to SAVE our poor defenseless soldiers"
People scream foul play, a product gets bought on a whim, and the operators end up suffering through bad interfaces and inoperability between other sources... can you say PSC-5 vs 117D?
