My Libertarian side
My libertarian side says whether you are a male trapped in a female body or a female trapped in a male's body you enlisted in the body you were wearing at the time of enlistment.
As long as you comply with the military requirements for that body while you are on duty I don't really care if some guy puts on high heels and panty hose after work.
It is interesting how sports treat the issue. I don't think a male who transgenders to a female is allowed to participate as a female in say weightlifting, running, etc, etc in the Olympics.
I don't think a male going to a woman would make much difference in the Military - while a female going to a male would have to comply with male standards like at SFAS.
This is just throwing a few more mines out in the PC minefield 1SGs and COs will have to tiptoe through.

Personally, do what you want. I don't care either way, as long as your moral compass points towards "right" versus "wrong"...........
I could care less.
Just please, America.........Media outlets..........Activists..........
Stop cramming it down my throat.

You mean like women who have breast or butt implants, and men who have hair implants to deceive everyone of their true physical appearance. IMO people undergo trans-gendering for their own happiness, not to deceive others.
IMO, your last statement is a cop out, which comes as no surprise.

Morals, much like opinions, vary largely with the individual—although there are many external factors that would influence an individual’s moral compass. I’m sure that John, or Ashley (whatever) and his/her circle of friends thinks this is a perfectly acceptable behavior. I don’t agree.
Nevertheless, this is America and, if he/she wants to lop off his/her wiener and grow tittys, he/she certainly has the right. Whether he/she—let’s just say "it" (shorter)—needs to rejoin the Army afterwards may be a different story.
My opinion: it should seek counseling to help it ascertain its identity. It may have underlying issues, since it can’t seem to identify its own gender in the presence of a number of anatomical hints.
(Note to John/Ashley: no matter what you do to yourself--you're still a man--who now has to squat to pee.)

Not to a lib. Whether it's Jesus in a jar of piss, a marxist in the White House or a penis on a woman, it's all cool with libs.
That's why the Country's so f.cked up.

It's hard for libs to understand, as they lack a conscience in many areas.

Well spoken, sir. I happened across an article yesterday which mirrors your sentiment entitled "What Liberals Really Respect". Here are a couple excerpts that parallel your points:
Quote:
One time I read an internet posting made by a woman who had stopped renting to some Christians who had been tenants at her property. Her reason?
They made her feel bad about herself.
People who have no intention of dispensing with vice don't like moral standards they pale in comparison to -- which is why moral relativism is all the rage today, and why there is rage at Christianity -- and they don't like moral standard-bearers they pale in comparison to, either. Why do you think the Bible states, "What fellowship hath light with darkness? The darkness hates the light"? Immorality loves company as much as does misery -- just not the kind of company whose light makes one more miserable.
This explains something that has befuddled some people recently: the fact that while Senate hopeful Elizabeth "Fauxcahontas" Warren should be hopeless after revelations surfaced that she advantaged herself by lying about her heritage, she's actually neck-and-neck in the polls with her opponent, Scott Brown. It's no surprise, though. Her state, Massachusetts, elected and re-elected reprobate Ted Kennedy -- despite his decadent, drunken romps, one of which resulted in the death of a young woman -- until his death. It wasn't just his name recognition, either. Massachusettsans re-elected Barney Frank even after it was found that his homosexual lover -- a male prostitute Frank had initially hired for sex -- was running a call-boy operation out of the congressman's home. But even that was small potatoes. While Louisiana ex-governor Edwin Edwards (D) once said, "The only way I'll lose an election is if I get caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy," Massachusetts's standards are a bit different. Former Bay State congressman Gerry Studds did have a sexual affair with a teenage boy -- and was re-elected six more times until he, like Frank, decided to retire.

For a long time now in the West, the dominant philosophical disorder has been godlessness and relativism, and it has always correlated with some dark political ideology. It was twisted French Revolution ideals in one place, Nazism in another, and communism in yet another. In our time and place, it is known as liberalism.
Thus, it's no surprise that we see in our nation such social disorder -- many of the people in our nation are morally disordered. And if civilization is to survive in any form worthy of the name, liberalism -- and, most importantly, its root causes -- must die.

I remember CPT (P) Schroer as the Commander of ODB 520. An effective, honest Soldier.

Respectfully, I must disagree with the last statement. While such things are irritating, disrespectful, and may reflect a decline in public morals and taste, they are certainly not THE reason this country is F-ed up.
The vast majority of this country's voters have discovered that they can get the so-called "free lunch". I converse will people ALL over the political spectrum. Almost all have one thing in common: the other person has to give up their "rice bowl" - and leave theirs the hell alone.
If one makes the comparison of our nation's woes to a person's blood supply, the cause I mentioned is like diabetes, while the ones previously mentioned are more along the lines of mosquito bites. The latter is annoying, and could possibly do serious damage. The former is debilitating and will evenutally kill you.

The entitlement mentality to which I assume you refer was not generated by Conservative social programs, and is symptomatic of the disease of liberalism.

What's a "conservative social program"? A transfer payment is a transfer payment. Isn't it?

I just feel sorry for them.......being that 'confused' is the ultimate self inflicted mental problem a guy...uh, no, a gal could have.
My wife's Saturn station wagon thinks it is a Ferrari so I'm going to have some body work done and paint it up to sell on transgender car Ebay.
Just don't look under the hood.

You have completely lost me. How you can compare someone who is transgender with work ethic is completely beyond me.
Tell me, how do transgenders impact YOUR life? I don't want to here about what they are doing to society, etc.. I want specific cases where they impact YOU.
I have a couple. COL Schroer is one, and I found him to be one of the biggest brained people I will ever know. Since working for him, and being mentally challenged by him daily, I think made me a better officer. I started reading books I never would have read had it not been for him. I started thinking in ways I never would have, on strategic issues important to the national security of this country because of him. Say what you will about Dave becoming Dianne after he retired, but I know a lot of people in the military that were positively influenced by him.
While at NPS I also had a professor who was transgender. Went throught the whole surgery and used the same restroom as I did. I didn't like her politics, but she was a damn fine professor who broadened my thoughts on our strategic interests in the PACOM AOR.
So yes maybe they may have some kind of mental deficiency, or as some of you have stated, a mental illness. That does not mean they do not have value in this world.
If we only limit our interactions with people who look like we do, think like we do, have the same religious preferences as we do, then this world becomes a really boring place, IMHO.

A few years ago, my wife and I were invited to a wedding between a transgender who was on her soccer team and a guy who was a country/western type. I went just to see what would happen plus, the TG was a lawyer so I knew the food would be good and the booze free. Right in the middle of exchanging vows, the groom put on a cowboy hat, picked up a microphone and sang Randy Travis' "I'm Going to Love You Forever and Ever". To this day, I don't know if he knows if she was a he but it was one of the more entertaining weddings I have ever attended.

IMHO the growing of geneticly modified apples and the reliance on bees to pollinate orange groves . . . . Apples and oranges.
