Mmmmm grilled veggies, nice job TS. I think I'd pass on any kind of dip or vinaigrette and eat those as is.
"Just picked" tomatoes and sweet corn from a farm out west of me. I simply cannot get enough of the corn this year, it is amazingly tender and sweet. If anyone is in the area do yourself a favor and go directly to Wagner's Farmstand 9937 S Rt 59 in Naperville, IL.
Also on a watermelon and Rainier cherry kick.

Holly, the cheesecake looks scrumptious. Well done!
Gypsy, I'm jealous of the fresh-picked corn you're enjoying. Good corn up here is rare. Most of it is "cow corn" - good for feeding cows.  I've heard corn is best eaten immediately after it's picked, and that's the problem here - by the time it arrives in stores, it's old.
Yesterday we had a picnic on the beach with grilled veggies: eggplant, zucchini, sweet onion, portabella mushrooms and sweet baby bell peppers marinated simply in olive oil, crushed garlic, salt and pepper.
Today we're having the leftovers with spiral pasta & fresh grated Parmesan. (And maybe a little sand from the beach...)

Dinner in Oklahoma
Well, I am having some roasted and smoked chicken tonight with my Dad since it is my last night here in okie land for a while.

Just prepared a nice cold summertime beverage, to go with my nice, cold summertime near-death experience today!

When finally the hotel in Albuquerque was in sight, at 5:00 tonight, my thoughts were on all the foods never made in my life, but that had been trying to accomplish. 
You see, today, I drove through not one, but TWO F---ing Monsoons.
The first was the WORST thing I have ever been involved in inside a vehicle, as the accompanying cloud to ground lightning all around me took my breath away...am just thankful to be alive! :-~
Though now having a very strong drink and marveling out the window of a very nice dark rainy mountainside view, it is actually nice to look at...
Anyway, it is 50 degrees outside, and when checking in earlier, my looks were of a wet mop from running through the wind (damn!) and cold rain to get inside! (Should have taken a photo, as it made me wish I was ten years old again, when that kind of thing was, "This is a Blast!" lol! :-)
Hey, I survived, so no complaints!.

I thought you were an Okie! Monsoons are a seasonal weather system which occasionally breed Thunderstorms. You drove through two F-ing T-storms. You've never done that before?
Going through Albuquerque in the early '70s, I got caught in a WET dust storm. The rain was mud and the windshield wipers did nothing to clear the windshield. Fortunately, everybody just stopped until it was over.

Well at least you stayed in a Holiday Inn Express that night!!! I have driven by this place over 1,000 times going to and from work or driving around the city.
