Dug through my 12th Group stuff and found this. His name is just above mine...LOL. Still don’t remember him but the name and SSN match. Don’t know if he ever went to the Q course. There were a lot of guys on teams that were waiting to go. Don't know anything about any of his other claims but I'd have to say someone with the name and SSN he's using was in 12th Group.

Edited to remove SM's full SSAN from Hazardous Duty orders - Richard.

Matt Courage

Matt Courage was in my class, the tallest (6'8") 18D I ever knew. He towered over me (I'm 6'3") and during pay day activities Nick Rowe made a comment about how his boots looked like small canoes (they were something like size 14). I'll try to look him up to see if he remembers this guy.

Graduating classes have shrunk since I went through.

Me, too. There were 12 of us who graduated from our Medic class.

So that means he was qualified as an SF medic but never served as one?

Exactly what does that mean? How did they verify?

Who and how? Did the School house verify? If they did why has no one from his old Group 12 SFGA remembers him?

Here is what we do know.
1 - he is not a Ranger School Graduate
2 - He did not serve in 1/75th
3 - He never served in any unit of 7th SFGA
4 - He lies about his service in operations in Central America.

That's the first set of orders I can remember seeing that didn't have middle initials.

Here's what was posted:

Gents... I was able to contact JFKSWCS Spt Bn Academic Records Branch today..... He is, in fact, on that set of orders.

To clarify... Permanent Orders 96-21, dated 31 July 87, awarding the SF Tab. As he had posted in his FB page. I have no knowledge at this time if there is a Q course graduate certificate at all. He has TAB orders.

I love it when people remember enough to write a book, but not enough to recall major details of their claims, like the units they served in.

Remember when Hillary wrote a book, but under oath, repeated her lack of recollection of events time after time?

This guy is full of shit as a Christmas goose.

I hang my head in shame that I believed this guy's BS; and was even friends with him on FB...his page is no longer available. I was going to buy his book and he even emailed me his book in PDF. But as I got to talking to him on FB (and I kick myself for not keeping a record of those conversations as hdgb did), I began to have reservations about him. I threw a few real names at him and a few bogus names and said they were all in Panama when he was there, etc. I got back the same crap about PTSD and how he was awarded 100% disability for it.

Quote:
I just got a 100% service-connected rating for my PTSD related to C.A. Because of my book, my next book and my petition about getting recognition for C.A. Vets, I have been "reminded" to limit what I say
<~ his words

Which made me really wonder but I never questioned him. I certainly can remember most of the close friends I served with and as well as most of my close friends in other units. When I asked him about a certain friend that was killed in El Sal, he said that that was classified information and he couldnt discuss the particulars about it. Well, its not classified that he died.

He also informed his FB friends that Oprahs Book of the Month club had picked up his book and was going to publish it further. I don't know if this true but took his word for it at the time.

I still have his email with the book PDF, if anyone wants it. I also have his contact info, mailing address and phone number.
So I am guessing he is not done with his charade. I really hope you guys find out the truth about him. I feel like an idiot for allowing myself to trust his word, since he purported to be a faithful Christian as well. I should maybe stop looking for the good in people anymore?
