Had almost the identical situation at a rest stop outside of Olympia, WA. When I tapped on the window with my G22 he beat feet like a marathon runner.

I reply, "WTF you talking about?"
Then it hit me. I tell him to "F*** Off".
He starts to tap on my window again, I pull out the .45 that was on my chest and point it at him and repeat what I just said. He muttered something I could not understand and beat feet.
I think the .45 is sort of a universal sign, it's understood everywhere.

And no, am not ashamed to admit it...just think there is a better way to deal with crazy shit that is thrown at a person, like today...

Having a sure knowledge of the outcome helps a lot. It kinda makes you smirk inside. If it happens again, you'll know what we're talking about. Just go over it in your mind what you're going to do BEFORE it happens. If it's filed away already, you're one step ahead of the purp. Just keep a good idea of what's going on around you.

And one filled with a new experience (and many more options) to fall back on if the situation arises again.

I'm glad you are safe Holly.

Keyring pepper spray is nice when out of the car and walking... but MRS. Jawbreaker has a can in the side compartment of the driver side door. Having to take your keys out of your car to prepare yourself for a confrontation is bad juju, IMO. It's like giving up the high ground for no reason. Glad to hear you are safe. Lessons learned.

I keep pepper spray in the truck and our Jeep, it is a good option. I know it is a shame but you can't just shoot all the nutjobs and pests.

Holly......TS and blue have the right idea.
Open Carry in a vehicle is LEGAL in most states(opencarry.org for more info on states)....no license needed. Keep it loaded, ie...one in the pipe.
A few extra mags in plain view wouldn't hurt anything, either.
Buy a gun, get some training, display the pistol in plain site in the vehicle (state dependent).
