Well done Gentleman. I believe Our Team came 7th over all and 1st in the foreign teams...
This type of cross training can only be of benefit 
Any one know if Discovery Channel covered the event? although I've tried and failed in trying to watch the last 5 years of the event as Discovery EU doesn't show it

I bought several rounds of beer yesterday for my red neck Marine buds at the VFW late last night and really gloated over our 1st and 2nd place finish..... What I love most about them is that they have totally accepted this Yankee from Chicago as one of their own...... Unfortunately I only have one other SF buddy(20th Grp.Jackson,MS retired) but he's a "paper tab" and is more for his service in the 101st Abn. than his SF service.......... Well anyway as I've said before "De Oppresso Liber".............

I believe that SF is a 'calling' - not too different from the calling missionaries I know received. I knew instantly that it was for me, and that I would do all I could to achieve it. Teddy, let me clear this up, one team came in first in Service class and first overall. The other team came in second in Open class and fourth over all. Now if you read that right then you will know that two guys shooting straight 7.62mm shot better than two guys shooting 300 Win Mags.
Marines took second overall and second in the service class. USASOC took first Open and third overall and our second team took second in Open and fourth overall.
Sorry for the confusion, I should have been more specific.

OK, I still screwed up!!
The Marines came in third not second, the USASOC team took second overall. I can't read the board worth a dam lately!
Service Class - Our guys first and Marines Second
Open Class - USASOC first our other team second.
Overall - Our guys first, USASOC second, Marines third, our other team fourth.
Dam, I hope I got it right this time!!
The Irish Army team came best of the foreign guest teams.

No, they were beat last year as well. We came in second and Benning came in first. USASOC took third I believe.

Would be interesting to a see a team from Finland participating.
I am not clued into the possibilities & resources of an active Army team participating, but there is a rather strong interest on the reserve side for sniping. Are military reserve teams are allowed to enter this competition?
There are two main sniper events held here, either the Lapua Sniper Competition or the Finnish Championships ( Häyhä Match )
Atleast the Lapua Sniper Competition has had foreign teams.

Tuukka, reservists are welcome but need to inquire early to receive an invitation.
The Special Forces Sniper Competition is in December at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
The Armed Forces Skill-at-Arms Matches are normally held in October at Camp Robinson, Arkansas for active, reserve, and National Guard teams (individuals can only shoot in the Excellence-in-Competition matches) . I'm not sure if sniper matches are still part of the championships, but the last time I competed we had teams from the UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, and a few others I can't remember now.
