halloween goodies..

It's that time of year, you know ghouls, and ghosts and princess' oh my!

Here is a few links to some ghoulish food for the kids hallowmas party.
The correct term is subtlety, something that looks like one thing, but is another..
Enjoy, AM

Holly my partner in crime* and I made the fingers and the eyeballs today.

She, at 6, is a great artist. She had a photo of a eye's iris in front of her and she used food paint to create a too realistic looking iris.

She just had to paint the nails of the 'fingers' blue.

We made a cake heart that when cut, 'bled' red jello blood.

Her mother, my dtr, took one look giggled and called us sick and the eyeballs
quite delicious.

AS for the subject I believe you are refering to. I am sitting on the sidelines in quiet interest enjoying the puppy pile and our latest inductee blathering on the bottom.
The hard work of our mighty crew deserves my dainty goodies don't you think?
YMMV

Those desserts look...gross.

Looks like your helper was having quite a time.

I just made some German checkerboard cookies, as in addition to being Halloween, today is also Reformation Day.

Orange theme this year...

Halloween is my favorite holiday. It kinda sucks this year since my Mum passed away last week... but she'd be all about driving on with the mission, and so I shall.

This year is our granddaughter #2's first one where she "gets it" (@ 2.5yrs) and since Nana is in prison from 06-1800, Poppy had to take point.

Pumpkins were carved late last night... Thanks to Mr. Harsey for the cutlery & thanks to the great state of Kentucky for the firewater.

I just baked a batch of cupcakes, and added some yellow & red coloring to the batter. I failed to achieve the proper hue, but we'll go with it... once cooled they'll get the orange frosting treatment & some 'ween' themed doo-dads.

While the oven is cooling back, I am fixin' to hack up some ribs for the TS' treatment. I'll monkey with the BBQ sauce to see if we can't get it looking orange as well. <edit> separate the ribs after tenting 6hrs in the oven.<>

Two trays of cubes freezing w/ orange Hawaiian Punch in 'em... and a handful of flies & spiders for additional floating stuff in the punchbowl.

I still have to hang up a giant yard spider & bat, and will need to fuel up the Stihl 460, mount the 28" bar, and don the balacava for a good ole chainsaw massacrin'

I'm open to any suggestions... this is my first year con solo.

AM,

She is a cutie! We never really got into Halloween around here, but I can say that dressing up for a party in thigh-highs and heels in my playboy bunny outfit a few years back was fun! (...A FEW years back...A-hem! hehehe)
