Hello from Denver
Hello,
I'm not SF, but I am looking to ship out for the Marines. I'm a poolie currently, just settling up on job selection and when that happens I'll have a ship date. I'm 23 and have been a prototype machinist for the past 5 years. I also tutor, and would be teaching for a local community college (Sweat equity, it's great) that I'm also taking classes at were I not shipping out. I'm shooting for a BSME which should be followed by a BSEE, and will probably be tied together with a MS program at UCD.
As for my areas of expertise, I don't have but one or two. I hold a supervisory position at a shop in downtown Denver running the CNC department. I don't know it all, but if any have questions about certain aspects of machining or sheetmetal manufacturing I'll tell you what I can. I'm also fairly learned in areas of law concerning firearms, holding a CCW and trying to keep a good relationship with the friendly local BATFE agents . I'm NOT a lawyer, and I don't know it all, but there's a chance that I can tell ya where to look because the law can be a fickle thing to find. Other than that I'm just here to learn and have done just that, this forum is an excellent source of good information and pointers.
Thanks for letting me intrude,
modgod

Well my name is Brian. I am from Texas. Joined the Army in 04 after doing some college for a few years. My MOS is 13F. I spent 4 years with 1-501 P.I.R. in Ft Richardson Alaska. During that time i got to go to Australia for Talisman Saber in 2005 (jumped in) http://www.c7f.navy.mil/ts05/index.htm, NTC OpFor in March of 2006, JRTC BlueFor in August of 2006 and OIF in October of 2006. I went to SFAS in March of 2008 and got selected, then shortly after wiped out on my dirt bike right outside Palin's home town and messed my self up pretty good. ETS'd and joined the NG shorty after that on a early college drop and I am about to graduate Jr college this month. I should be attending SFQC as an 18B/french candidate in April 09 if all goes well.

My name is Pete, I'm 25, and I've felt drawn towards SF for a couple of years now. I'm currently considering SF or flight school. I'm in the National Guard and feel I could excel in either area. Ideally I'd like to experience both. I've come here to listen and learn, almost every question I have has either been answered or is being discussed so I don't expect to be posting much.
I don't expect too many questions directed towards me but I'd be happy to answer most if not all of them.

Introduction
Hello to all,
I am a sergeant in the Pennsylvania NG, with whom I am serving on my third mobilization. Chronologically I have served in Kosovo, Hurricane Katrina, and now Iraq. My brigade (56th SBCT) has finally switched to a Stryker outfit and we will be the first NG group to use these vehicles in a combat zone, or any deployment for that matter.
I have thought long and hard about SF and decided, now, to focus all energy to learning the SF way(s). I realized quickly this forum will provide me most/all the info I need to get me moving in the right direction.
My goal is to try-out for B Co. 2/20 asap upon my return stateside. Thank you for allowing me to be here.

Big welcome to all.
Deadspace 16 You will have to live it to learn it. It's a mentallity that runs deeper than these threads.
Pjody187 Chin-up and good luck.
paetrw, It will be either "rucking" or "Flying". Think hard.
Guardwarrior, Oft times we think we're high speed until the race begins.
Best to all, Blitz

And you will use proper English next time you post on this board or you will be in the reading only mode.
TS
Oh and you may want to re-think the "highspeed" remark, or do you enjoy drawing fire?

My Introduction
I am an enilisted medic in the US Army. Had the chance to work with foreign militarys: Canadian, UK, German, USAF. Done sickcall, mounted patrols, EMS, medical coverage. Always looking to improve myself and others. Thinking about going flight medic for the rush and the SOCM course. Do not really know what path I want to take. Looking for good information and assistance to help improve myself and others. I will try to remain under the radar while in the QPs house. I really believe QPs are making a positive impact on the military with this site, I find myself trying to live up to a higher standard now that I have gained some insight to how things really are.

FWIW, I always considered the USAF to be a 'foreign' military force, too.
