SPC Fortunato

We just got our personal communication ban lifted that was placed for this man and 2 other of our comrades "giving it all". This man was an impressive individual. He served in B co as a gunner if I recall correctly (Over here at 1-26 the lines kind of blend between companies. Also I was serving in the BAS prior to deployment.) He was a very intelligent and outspoken person, never afraid to let you know what he thought. Last I talked to him I remember him saying how much he hated the thought of IEDs. We are all pretty much agreed on that one I'm sure. I mean it's the unseen danger.

Rest in Peace, Brother.

The two others that fell with him were:
Spc. Cory J. Bertrand, 18
Sgt. Preston R. Medley, 23

RIP, Specialist Fortunato. To quote the last line of the movie "The Bridges of Toko Ri" - stated by the Admiral - "Where do we get such men?"

Rest in Peace SPC Fortunato, with all those that have gone before. Thank You for your service & sacrifice. Thank You for sharing your thoughts so no one could twist your motivation. You rest now, knowing that there are others that feel as you do & will carry on so that your family & friends will remain free & safe.
