Hello folks.

I've been gone from the board for quite a while, so I thought I'd post a quick introduction. My name is Dan, and no, I no longer attend UCSB (it was a case of a poor choice of username four years ago). I'm a prior service infantryman who currently lives and works in the high desert of northern Nevada. When I'm not out trying to rub pennies together, I mostly enjoy shooting, off-roading and trying to keep my girlfriend happy.

I have had the honor of meeting a number of the QPs on this board in person, and am thankful for it.

My name is Bill, and I'm a retired US Army Special Forces officer. I first joined the Army in 1975, and served as a 19D Cavalry Scout in the 1st Infantry Division. I left the Army in 1979 as a SGT, E-5 to finish my college degree. I returned to the Army in 1981 by completing OCS, and becoming an Infantry officer. My first assignment was with the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI. I completed the Qualification Course in 1985 as a Captain, after returning from Hawaii and completing the Infantry Officer Advanced Course. I served in 7th Special Forces Group at Ft Bragg and Panama; US Army JFK Special Warfare Center & School; 19th SFG(A) as their active duty advisor; and 1st Special Forces Group at Ft Lewis, WA before retiring in 1999, with just over 22 years active duty. I am a HALO Jumpmaster, hence my on screen name. After retiring I was the civilian SOF analyst at the Combined Arms Center, BCTP, Ft Leavenworth, KS for 4 years. I then took a job at the USAREUR HQ in Heidelberg, Germany as the Chief, Antiterrorism Teams for 3 years. And for the last 2 years I've been the Lead Physical Security Specialist for NOAA, in the National Capital Region.

Intro

Morning Gents,

I currently serve as an 0302 Infantry Officer. I have one deployment to Iraq under the belt and looking at another very soon. I studied history and Russian in college. I lived in St. Petersburg, Russia for four months. After college, I worked in DC for close to a year before joining the Corps.
I'm interested in the 20th SFG in either NC or MD.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Posting intro

Finally signing in. I am Frank H. spent much of my time in C/1/7 and from there went to C/3/7. After some other jobs out of Group I was reassigned to C/1/7 to complete the circle.

I finished up in 1/10, they wanted to see if old bones would break on the Austrian ski slopes (no they did not). Made my way back to South America and I have been working here for 5 years.

Been A While...

Hello again Gents. I've been looking in once in a while, but been hitting the books as much as possible until recently....figured it would be a good time to get back on here a little. Just finished the course. Couldn't be happier with my assignment now. Might not hear a lot from me, though I would appreciate any input from some of you seniors out there on "going to your first team". I expect the regular FNG treatment, but any good additional tips are always greatly appreciated. Thanks Gents, and have a good one.

I'm currently deployed to Iraq and met up with some guys from the ODA attached to my unit. They made me fascinated with the lifestyle so I decided to put my packet in. I will be in class 04-09. Right now I'm a 25U and decided to stay in the commo field and try my hand at becoming an 18E.
