Hello,
First I'd like to say, The first Couple of days I have Studied the Forums and My wealth of knowledge has been broadened, to say the least.

My name is Vincent, I'm 18 and I recently returned from Jacksonville MEPS. Everything went fine untill my Color Vision test, Witch I Failed. It never really crossed my mind because I've always Have been able to tell the difference between Red and Green even when used in different shades simultaneously. This in turn Hindered choices for an MOS.

I originally Wanted Infantry, however, due to the nature of the Situation I had to settle for a non-combat oriented MOS. I've always wanted to be a Ranger or go SF. I'm not going to let this stop me from doing what I want to do. I plan on seeing an Optologist to determine the Exact nature of my situation so I can Have a Re-evaluation Performed.

-Vincent

Introduction

Professional Soldiers,

First off, let me thank you for this incredible site. I have perused the posts for several months and have been impressed with the intellect and patriotism of many of your posters. "The Trainer" turned me onto PS and it's been a pleasure.

A little about me. I'm an engineer and CEO of a small company that has been heavily involved with TACOM, TARDEC, and DARPA in the design and development of HUMINT gathering devises such as UGV's and UAV's. Weapons and undercover work are my passions.

Regards,

HUMINT

Introduction

Hi, I’ve been coming to this site for about 4 months now and it’s only right I post my bio on here. My name is jay. I entered the army in 2003 as a 21B Bravo. I attended basic training at Ft Leonard wood, Missouri and was later stationed at Ft. Riley, KS. I deployed twice with the 1st Engr BN , once in 2003 and later in 2006. Shortly after returning from deployment I decided Route Clearance and IED hunting wasn’t wasn't fun any longer so went to SFAS. I got picked up for French and 18C. I am scheduled to start the MIGHTY “Q” in Nov. I want to thank everyone who posts on this site, for all the insight, and also Warrior-mentor. Your book was a great help.

Gentlemen,
My name is John, I'm 29, and a prior service Navy Master-at-Arms. I'm currently working on getting into the army, hopefully as an 18x, I left the navy in March as an E-5. If I can't get an 18X contract, I will enlist as an 11X with airborne, and take my chances from there. I'm looking forward to learning from all the Quiet Professionals here, and hopefully serving with you all in the future.

hello, my name is Andrew. Have beening viewing your website since i was in Navy boot camp about 7 months ago. The Navy screwed my out of my contract, so the let me out b/c it was there fault. I wanted to go into SEAL, but when i relized that wouldn't be possible I started to look at other branches spec ops. I just recently became a member here because i ran into some trouble trying to go SF. I have searched greatly for a similar question that i will soon post. i apologizes if i mess up on my first post. Much respect to the professional soldiers. And Thank you.

ranson777,

A bit out of my lane but; spelling, grammar, and proper English will do you a world of good on this site, and in life in general.

Best of luck!

Back to my lane.

Hello All,

SF was the defining period of my life.

I met the challenge of the Q-course and serving on teams. I got to run around with Jordanian and Egyptian Commandos. I had something "that said more about you then you would ever say about yourself". I love my wife but, I LOVE being SF.

After I left active service (you can check my profile if you want) I was a banker (started as a teller and made it to Branch Manager). I believed that banking was about helping people fullfill their dreams (The current mortgage crisis breaks my heart). I also learned that noone whines louder then a teller with 5+ years on the teller window. My daughter was born in '93 and I figured out that there was a reason I was still on this earth. When she started school I returned to school and became a teacher. (She was too precious to leave her education to some stranger). The rant starts here: I believe the real problem with school today is not the kids, the parents, the school board, curriculum or "society". The real problem is : most teachers went from the 'back of the classroom" to the "front of the classroom". Most teachers have never done anything but be in a classroom and they loved every minute of it. Since they have never left the school they never learned that the purpose of school is to do something when you leave. They are also incapable of understanding students who do not love school. The rant is over.

I sent my oldest son to Iraq just three days before "Mission Accomplished". (Like many of us I had to be "retrained and retested" on the Marriage POI.) I joined the California National Guard a week later. After a year of "one weekend a month" I went to the Readiness NCO and asked to be put on the " next levy no matter where it is going". I went to Camp Eggers in Kabul Afghanistan as a Force Protection Squad Leader. I had 2 illustrators, a water purification Specialist, a cook, an NBC guy, some mechanics and two mortarmen. It was the ultimate G-Mission for me! I had a blast training them and leading them. They were all "damn fine Infantrymen"when I was done. We really were the best on the camp and we owed it all to my SF training. Then I switched to anti-terrorism and mostly worked outside with the local nationals security guys. I learned to love Hescos! That was even more fun. In the off time I rode shotgun for the Civil Affairs folks, so I actually got to see Afghanistan. SF is fun but CA is winning the hearts and minds. Did I mention it was fun? Suddenly it was time to go home.

When I got back to CA we moved to IL. I found a nice home in an Infantry Company that was deploying back to Afghanistan this year. Wife noticed the grin and didn't even smile when she said that if I thought I was going she'd cache the body parts in so many locations they would never reassemble me. She didn't smile because she wasn't kidding! Well, dwell time is one thing but I can still help out, so they activated me to be the fill-in Readiness NCO. That's what I'm doing. (It's harder then it looks, too.) Our daughter is now in High School, my oldest is back in Iraq, our two boys are Little Leaguers -- the 6 year old wants to be a catcher! I do a little ski patroll (yeah, in Missouri -- so shut up!) I fantasize about going to Iraq as a PSG when our boys return and I'm not needed around the armory. -- I'm feeling a little long of tooth to go back to a team. Although I smoke the APFT! Oh yeah, and I'm getting a Masters in Math.

Hmmmmmmmm . . . was planning this to be a "hi and glad to be here" post. Got a little carried away. It is great to be able to reconnect with those that have berets, admire berets and aspire to berets. "IT SAYS MORE ABOUT YOU THEN YOU WOULD EVER SAY ABOUT YOURSELF".

I have missed you guys.

Smile NEWBIE

Hey Fellas,
My names is Allen and I recently graduated from the University of Great Falls in Great Falls, Montana. Since then I have moved to Southern Pines, North Carolina and am in the process of getting an 18x contract through my recruiter in Sanford. I just took the ASVAB yesterday and will be going to MEPS in about a week or so. After watching my father have an outstanding career in 10th Group I have decided that I want the same life for myself. I look forward to working with you fine gentlemen in the future!!

Also, I recently purchased warrior-mentor's book and am off to a good start with it. It's a gold mine of information!

Introduction

I've been floating around here for some time now and I think it is about time for me to post my introduction. My name is Corey, and i am currently a Junior at New Oxford High School. I have always been interested in the United States Armed forces since i could remember. With many of hours researching I decided that the Army was the right path for me. I have the Honor of talking to a Special Forces Operitive for sometime now, Him being my Best Buds Dad. So Mr. ****** and I have had many of great discussions. This is a great site that I have stumbled upon and keep up the great work.

Side note: I wear my ball cap strait.
Thanks again for the privilege of being a member of this site.
Best Of Luck
