Hello. I will be graduating from college next year and plan to go the 18x route. I have no prior military experience but am trying to research as much information as possible to help prepare myself ... which is how I found this site. This country has really given me a lot. I moved here in '89 due to the civil war in my home country. Since then, I have been given everything from citizenship to grants to help pay for college, etc etc. I really hope I can give something back by serving in the military.

Hello

Hi! I am from the Houston, Texas area. I joined the Army on 20080805 and I am in the Delayed Entry Program for 290 more days. I am 21 years old, married, and I am in my senior year of college graduating in May. I ship out for BCT on the 20080527. My MOS is Infantry and I will be attending jump school as well. In my contract I got 11x40, the Ranger School option. I intended on going in 18x, but I changed my mind because I thought that going through all of the steps to get to SF would make me a better soldier. I know that SF recruits so I will be keeping an eye out. While waiting to graduate and ship-out to boot, I am running...running... and doing some more running and boosting my push-ups, sit-ups and pull-up maximums. I joined the Army because I want to serve my country in its time of need like my family has done before me! I want to be able to give a soldier a break from the line so they can be with their family and loved ones. I thank you guys for serving our country. I look forward to learning from the information posted on this forum! Thanks

My Humble Intro...

I would like to humbly introduce myself to the Staff, Quiet Professionals and members. I would like to Thank You for allowing me to be a part of your community with the vast amount of knowledge available here. I have been reading non-stop for the past few days...LOL!! I actually got a headache from reading so much last night!! But this site has so much quality information and the Quiet Professionals and Staff here have been so helpful with all my inquiries. The long story short is: I have been a 19D(Cavalry Scout) most of my career. I have 3 deployments, the last of which was to Iraq OIF '05-'06 and ran missions out of Al Taquuaddam(TQ), but spent a few months at Corregidor, Ar Ramadi, Fallujah, Baghdad, and was literally all over Iraq. I was originally running missions with a PLS platoon and volunteered after the 1st month to run missions with 101st out of Corregidor. I got back from Iraq and was sent to OCS by my BN CMD. Now I am the PL for a Stryker Platoon of Scouts. SCOUTS OUT!HOAH!! Love Wearing that Cavalry Stetson w/ my Spurs!LOL!

I have always been one to challenge myself as a soldier and as a man. I recently have enrolled in Ranger school, but plan attending SFAS and SFQS immediately afterwards. I am not a "tab chaser" or anything of the such, I just want to be the best soldier and leader I can be. I beleive with Ranger School and SF training, I will be one step closer to acheiving this. I have the utmost respect for the Quiet Professionals and I hope one day I can have honor and priviledge to walk among your ranks.

Almost forgot: 12 yrs TIS; 6 yrs Active

It always breaks my heart to see soldiers have to wear corrective shoes and a hat with a 360deg safety bumper.

Hey There Stryker;

I'll let you know that there are more than a few Scouts & Cav types who post here. Some a bit more senior than you and still active .

Welcome all.

Just here to gather some useful information prior to enlistment. I only would like ask if anyone may know about the N. California SFRE time and location for the National Guard. This is my first posting, but I have been reading plenty of awesome information for a while now. Thank you.

Hardly an introduction, and no profile info either.

Who are you again?

Did your high school and/or college have any English teachers/profs?

Back to my lane.
