I find a bit of insensitive (on my part) irony in the piece, given the author's last name and his potential reaction if someone used the "K-word".

Guys,

IMO the 'R' word is better defined as 'rural' vs 'redneck' as rural ffolkes are pretty much the same throughout the land despite any measure of an accent or lack thereof. I grew up in the central valley of California and found the general mores and tastes of where I grew up to be pretty much the same as those in so-called 'redneck' country.
