Oh, and you can call me Jon.
Jon, re-read the board rules again. Pay attention to rule number 10.

I just recently got back into the military after a 4 year break in service. I am trying to find a feasible way of getting an 18A spot on active duty. I was commissioned in 2001 and served 3 years in the Armor with 3ID. I got out in 04 and now I want back in.

New to the site

16 year career and counting, made the transition from Infantry to SF a couple years ago, I know kinda late to be switching. Just found this a few days ago from SWJ site. May post a lot or may not depends on the subject, but mainly here to gain knowledge. Thanks to everyone who has served before me, with me, and those still to come.

Introduction

My name is Jason. I have been in the Army for 18+ years. I initially went into the Army Reserves in my junior year. Went to basic between my junior and senior year of high school. I started off as a logistics specialist, but I wanted to go into Special Forces, so upon my first reenlistment I reclassed to 11B and went to jump school. Was in 3/504 PIR for a few years and went to selection in 1997. Went straight through the Q-course and became an 18D in 1999. Spent 4 years on ODA 173 and then a year on ODB 170. Went to SWCS to be an instructor at the med lab in 2004. I put in a warrant packet the last year I was in SWCS, 2006. Went to the warrant course in the beginning of 2007. I was reassigned to 3rd SFG(A), were I am currently serving. Thanks for allowing me in your team room.

Yes.

This is an SF board, and is definitely not like some of the other boards you may frequent. We are not here to play Airsoft, HALO, or answer a plethora of stupid questions from people who cannot spell, cannot use proper grammar, cannot yet enlist, and who have extremely long lists of needs without having much, if anything to contribute. You yourself are several years short of being able to try out for SF. We do not take 18 year-olds. Kids also have a tendency to be immature and whiny, viewing every personal issue as one that someone else needs to address for them, without spending the time and energy to try and search or do some reading before the irresistable urge to ask another personal or irrelevant question occurs to them. Those characteristics define a person who is not cut out for SF, and who has little, if any chance of making it in a world of go-getters and self-starters, at least before they grow up a bit and mature. It is the reason you are known as the "Why" Generation. We are looking for a total package of physical, intellectual, and psychological excellence. At your age, it is impossible to tell if you have it yet, or are going to.

In short, we have neither the time, nor the inclination for dealing individually with kids, much less explaining ourselves to all of them who question our rules.

If you think we should, this is probably not the place for you either. Being aware of the rules, and yet choosing to ignore them, is not something we are inclined to tolerate from guests here.

You asking that question is one of the reasons why.

Gentlemen,

I am a 23 year old senior in college and will graduate at the end of this month. I have come to the site to learn about sf directly from quiet professionals. So far the search button has been my friend and have read a lot of information that reinforces why i want to be here.

Respectfully,

Naz

Morning Chaps!

EX_STAB here, visiting from the British Army online community www.arrse.co.uk

I'm ex- Territorial Army. I left after the cold war. Probably too old and fat to go back into harness now but I still take an interest.

For your information, there was a character who hijacked my pseudonym and posted a lot of rubbish about fantasy weapons on various sites. If you find another "EX_STAB" on the internet be aware it might well not be me!

Onwards and Upwards!

Howdy!

New to the forums, I hope I get this right on the 1st try. I'm thankful and grateful for everything yall do for us, I know yall don't here this alot, but Thank You.

Little about myself, born and raised in Phenix City, Al. Right door to Ft Benning, Ga. So I enjoy learning more about SF. I enjoy reading it and watching it on TV, my only down fall is that I didnt join up after high school. Was hard headed and wanted to move out of the house, and ended up in Texas, then Florida, now back in Alabama. I'm a avid hunter, sports shooter and all out redneck, if you will. I've done the firefighting, ems and police jobs since I was 21. Now I work for the DPS here in Alabama. Im a radio operator, and enjoy what I do.

I found this board after my friend Spartan359 talked about it. I don't want to look like a clown so I will read more than I post.

Thank you for letting me into your world, and Thank YOU for what you do for this country.

Godspeed and Godbless

Greetings!
My name is Chris, I'm prior 11b1p. I was stationed with the 3/505th PIR out of Ft. Bragg from '96-99. After that, I became a Correctional Officer for the state of Arizona and am currently a contractor doing IT stuff at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. (Yes, I know..pretty big jump in career fields.)

I found these forums while doing a search for m4 accessories and as soon as I clicked on my first link yesterday, I knew instantly that this would be a community that I would really enjoy being a part of. I can appreciate the structure that you've got here and it'll be an honor to communicate with such a fine group of professionals.

I look forward to reading all the interesting bits of information on here and hopefully can be a productive member of your great community here. Thank you to all that have served and are still serving today.

All the Way!
