Hey guys, I'm Jon, I'm currently finishing up high school and looking at enlisting either this year or after college, it all depends... either way I am joining up! I love weapons, exercise, and anything pertaining to the military specifically SOF units.
I Came here because of the abundance of fantastic info to help me get into Special Forces. I've read a lot of great things so far and have learned so much in the last three days.

Introduction
Gentlemen, my name is Anthony and I am non-prior service SF candidate from Alabama enlisted as a REP-63 with the 1/20th SFG. I am scheduled to ship 20080319 to Fort Benning for OSUT. I am 29 years old and currently a high school educator completing an interim position until I ship. SF is something that I have thought about every day since I graduated high school, but have never pursued because of a variety of reasons. Honestly, before the last couple years, I didn’t have the “certainty of path” to commit to it. I tested the ROTC waters in college (LTC and Ranger Challenge) but decided that wasn’t the best route for me. I was fortunate enough to meet and observe a former SF soldier for a month at LTC. He was Cpt. Maes at that point, but was enlisted while in SF. His professionalism and influence burned in me the desire to be like that. Being the first SF soldier I had ever met, he made a big impact. I hope at the successful end of the pipeline I can get in touch with him and thank him for that. I have been fortunate with all my experiences, but through them all I knew I wouldn’t be satisfied if I didn’t pursue this. I’m not a badass, I just want the chance to give all I have, earn and live the tab, and protect my fellow soldiers to the best of my ability. I have been a member for a while, but this will likely be the last time I post until I make some progress in the pipeline. Thanks to everyone who has served and who contributes to this site.

Hello all, I am currently stationed at Bragg and slotted for SFAS in March. I came here to seek out all the guidance possible to increase my understanding of the SF mentality. I have thought about this opportunity everyday since my commissioning in May of '04. Any tips for my training prior to SFAS and after during the Q course would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome all...
Pepe, you might start in the "Pipeline" section of the forums and read, read, read and do PT on your breaks.

Hello all. I joined this site over 2 years ago but as of todays date I've done nothing but surf and search. I'm not too sure if I've ever posted an introduction so I will do so now (better to error on the safe side). I'm an 11B who's stuck behind a desk wearing a recruiter badge on ADSW for my 9-5. It's a job so I won't complain any more than I just did. I'm a former member of 143rd LRSD in Texas (Great guys down there). I'm currently in 194th LRSD in Iowa, which is an awesome unit. These guys love to jump. Other than my first drill with them last year, I don't think we've drilled without a jump since I've been with them. Sad to say though, we are losing our jump status after June AT. It may be a blessing in disguise for me though. I plan on contacting 20th group in Chicago here soon and work on drilling with them and going to Selection. Enough about me though. Thanks and love the site....Out

Evening Gentlemen
I am starting my intro as per the requirements. Hope this is the correct format.
I spent most of my time in the Corps. Bootcamp in 82 and have been in and around the military ever since. Most of my time back then was spent with LAR - the USMC version of Strykers.
Currently I recently reupped with a local National Guard unit and we are looking to go back overseas this summer.
My main goal here is to get some good intel and day to day experiences to learn from prior to this deployment - so I don't repeat someone else's mistakes.
Thanks for your time

update
Hello all, I just wanted to update my intro since my status has changed a bit.
I'm currently a 2LT with B Co. 1-118 IN (M) of the SC ARNG. I'm headed to the "Benning School for Boys" this weekend to start my BOLCII and IBOLC training.
My guys are all in Afghanistan right now so hopefully I'll find myself a deployment to volunteer for so that I'm not the experience-less leader when they get back.
Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy these boards, its a great resource.

Newbie Coming Through
A quick hello from an area I am sure a lot of you have seen before, Baghdad. I am currently on deployment number 1 of many I am sure I will be a part of in my career. I have the most hated MOS in the military, 31B (MP), and I am proud of it! But, as many of you have know, the only way to do anything is to be the best, and that means Special Forces. Just reading around, there is a great wealth of information and experience here, and I am damn glad I found it.
I hit my IRR years in about 8 months, so I am planning to head back to school to finish that bachelors I started 7 years ago, but during that time I want to start preparing for what I want in the future, SF. I am hoping to gain friends, mentors, and information that will prepare me, and help me meet and exceed the standard. My name is Rob, but some call me Dougie because of a striking resemblance to a cartoon character, and hence my displayed name.
Hello to you all, and glad to meet you!
