Hello everyone,
My name is Evan, and I am currently serving with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan. My current MOS is 94F (Special Electronics Device Repair), but have re-enlisted to go 21B once we get back to the States. Anyways, I've enjoyed visiting this site for a while, and figured I should add my intro.
Best Regards,
Evan

intro
My name's Otto. I've Been browsing the site for a few weeks and decided to register yesterday. I'm in my senior year at college - pursuing a B.A. in economics. I'll be reading the site, so I thought I should introduce myself. Right now I'm looking into an 18x contract. You'll probably not hear much from me for a few months as I read and learn.
Thanks for creating these forums.
Otto

intro
gentlemen,
My name is Mike , ive had the pleasure of working with many of you. I was in the Support Battalion 5th SF from july 86 to june 90. I was involved during the big move era from Ft Bragg to Ft Campbell ,Ky. Back then I was fortunate to wear the beret , and wore no tab. The reason i believe many of you know me is because i had a very rare job , as an airborne medic i worked with the 5th group Dentist. So at some time or another if you were in group during those years we met. My job allowed me to do things and go places that others with my skills would never see , i recieved both Kenyan, and Zaire jump wings and with the study help of many 18d medics , i recieved the Expert Field Medic badge . I have great respect for the men i worked with ,some i have found after all these years , and hope to re-meet some here again, I'd get a kick out of hearing from you. Q course ,shoulda , coulda , woulda, and will always be unfinished buisness in the back of my head , to you young guys goin in , take every opportunity you get nice to meet all of you ,

Hello
First off, great site and thanks to every one and their input. This is my first forum experience, and am more interested in learning than being heard. I have been poking around here for a little while and finally decided to introduce myself. I am currently in the middle of a "try one" with the 19th HHC to see if the guard was what I am looking for. I am also weighing my options for going active as an 18x. In time I will probably ask some questions about that, but will make sure someone else hasn't asked them first. Thanks again for a great site.
Hutch

Good evening, (depending on where you are!)
I have ben enjoying this sight for a few days now, and am exercising my privelage and responsibility to introduce myself.
I am 28 years old and am from southern Oregon. I served the Navy and my country for 4 years as an Aviation Structural/Hydraulic Mechanic. I am curently working for the worlds greatest heavy lift helicopter company primarily doing structural overhauls. I have a great job and get paid well, but have a desire to serve. I want to be a soldier... I want to be a professional... but for now I will just be quiet.
Thanx to the QP's for haveing me!

Updating.
Hello Gents,
Roy here, Ive posted before here showing my interest. I have made the choice on trying to obtain the 18X contract. As is stands I have a 24 month hold due to me being a prior Marine Officer Candidate. I am doing my best to potentially obtain an "exception to policy" so that I may leave March. If I have to wait, so be it, the wait will be worth it. Wish me luck. If anybody has any suggestions as to "bettering" my chances with this waiver feel free to PM me.
Very Respectfully,
Roy

Howdy all.
I've been reading here for a bit.
I'm 25 years old and I have recently renewed my interest in pursuing a career in the Army. I have 30 hours left on my ENGR degree at Texas A&M and I am in the process of finishing that up.
I have been interested in SF from a young age as my dad was in 10th in the late 70s early 80s. He started as a 1LT on a SADM team , and moved up from there and up to the staff as he went on.
I am here to read and learn. I am currently interested in the new NG SF unit that was recently stood up (C/5/19 I believe) but, as I said, I'm primarily gathering information right now.
Also, I mentioned this forum to my dad and he may be joining the discussion as well.
Glad to be here,
Nick

Welcome Roy,
Anything can be done with enough perseverance mate!
By the way, you should get your brother to post an intro too.

I am 23 and doing homework to help decide on joining the Army. I am getting married soon and that is playing a big part in my decision making process. If I join I will seek an 18x contract and do my best to stay on the 25m target. To that end I am doing PT daily now as well as reading up on SF history. I graduated from Clemson University with a degree in education in history and geography and love to learn because I love to teach.
Thank you for sharing so much valuable information for those unsure about a future in the military.
Thanks,
Brandon
