X Black Bean Turkey Chili

This is a family favorite.

In a frying pan, cook a diced onion in vegetable oil until limp.

Add a pound of ground turkey and cook until brown.

mix in a whole bottle of chili powder, three minced cloves of garlic,
a heaping table spoon of ground cumin, a level table spoon of paprika,
five dashes of Worcherschire (sp) Sauce, five dashes of Tobasco Sauce. salt and pepper, and a can of beer.

Meanwhile place the contents of three cans of black beans and three cans of diced tomatoes in a Crock Pot slow cooker.

Add the ingrediants of the frying pan to the slow cooker and stir. Place on the high setting and an hour later your chili is ready. Serve with Sour cream, Shredded Mexican Cheese, Lime wedges, a pan of corn bread and plenty of cold beer.

Well, cooked up your recipe yesterday.

Other than using a small bottle of Chili powder in lieu of not knowing what size yours was, we followed your instructions to a T.

Except that we cooked ours outdoors over an open flame in an iron skillet and a dutch oven.

(so much for the T)

I don't know what yours tastes like, but ours was damn good.

The beer was the key...before, during and after. But everyone enjoyed it, even the sober people, it went fast.

Much obliged.
