I know that guy!
Hey, the guy that made that was my team leader... at least until he won division NCO of the year and CSM Grippe snatched him up to be his driver. He got to go to Iraq with the rest of the division and do the "fun" stuff, while the rest of our company got the shaft... stuck on BAF at that place with "the really tall fence and bright lights..."
He's a good guy. Kind of funny that everybody else is seeing his stuff now.

I have a really stupid question, Why would you take the NCO of the year and make him a driver?

It's not who you know, its who you bl...
Your guess is as good as mine. We were working one day and he was on a traffic stop and the SM happened to drive by. Flipped his car around and came up to him when he was done and asked, "So, hows my favorite MP?" Kind of went from there. The company was kind of pissed about it cause we were/still are really understrength and every body counted. He's suppossed to be his driver/PSD. Why the division CSM needs a PSD I have no clue (especially when you usually have to have at least 2 stars for that). But anyway, thats where it started. He's just suppossed to be "attached" to division HHC for the deployment, and then when everyone gets home he comes back to the company.
Anyway...

Yes, it was/is definately bullshit
Absolutely the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)!
"The most powerful division in the world!"
It definately was because he (SM) could because everyone up to battalion was up in arms about losing another soldier, especially an NCO, for something like that when we were drastically understrength and preparing for deployment. But, in the big picture of life... we got over it, we're moving on... Charlie Mike!

El Guappo always did shit like that.
CSM Grippe was my PSG at 2/75. He always ran his element like that what El Guappo wants El Guappo gets.
