OK, you've got two lawyers (I'm volunteering AL, I'm sure he won't mind). We'll bring our own guns too.

Can anyone confirm this "report" yet? What is the source? If you need any other help on your little island, I'd be more than happy to run the cigar plants.

Ok - so far 2 Lawyers, fireteams (mixed), weapons, now we need ammo, transport (my 27 ft sailboat will only carry 1/2 an ODA with all attendant gear), $$$$, and some fire support. Oh, yeah - I need to get some vacation time put in, can't figure that this is going to be a permanent gig, so I won't give up my day job.
Col M- how does the post Generalissimo Supremo sound to you? It's yours if you want it, and I'm sure you will be able to recruit a fine staff from the board.

sf_med,
Let me run one of the cigar plants and I'll bring the fire support, in the form of 4 105mm howitzers. If we need more, there are ways to aquire things.

I'm pretty sure that I can get a yacht from my wife's extended family. As for ammo, between me and the "team" we can scrounge at least a good 6K rounds on short notice. That should be a good start.
Just one thing... can I be "Face"?

We have other M.D.s onboard (don't forget Doc T), and I can recruit my best buddy for the post of Surgeon General, also put her in charge of scientific research.

SF Med, I'll handle your PR for you. Everyone needs a CJ in thier Blanca Casa, or whatever color it is down there. <g> I can bring squirt guns. Oh, I can shoot, but I'm trying to be mostly bhuddist these days and will be happy to let you boys handle the shootemups. I'll just spin it and make you look good. (Won't be hard)
Besides, except in the case of Iraqi Information Officer M.S.S., people don't *usually* aim for the PR man. Muhamed Saaed Sharaf (sp?) was a special case, because although he brought us to giddy tears with his hysterically funny outbursts, his unmitigated optimism (I mean, ya gotta give him a brownie for team spirit, yeah?), his blustering quotes and brazen exclamations and his Facts be damned! attitude, at some point you just wanted the guy to shut the f**k up! <g> (Kinda like how you probably feel about this thread right now, yeah? jk)
So, I'll be your CJ. OH, and I'll bring the beers for afterward. Coup's always make me thirsty, how 'bout you? <G>

WOW, I thought this thread had passed into the great beyond.
JP-
Thank you for the kind words, and offer of being the semi-official "Spin Doctor". Since I will hold but a lowly post, somewhere near the beach, with a Modelo Especial, on a sailboat - my need of a PR Professional will be extremely limited - although the need for drinking partner, sailboat crew, and/or figurehead/ deck candy for the boat will exist - any or all of those positions are currently open.
ello-
Are you even old enough to leave home? And you just volunteered as entertainment chairman - your work is cut out for you, music will be important, hope you can conjure up everything from decent classical, to good jazz, to Hip-Hop - but if you play any hip-hop in my presence, you might get hurt. Lots of reggae will work - but if it's only Marley, you will be banished to the kitchen.

Call an NCO "sir" again and we'll ship to the friggin misguided children.
Bring the banjo - as long as you change your name to 'Susannah', I'm not sure how to take the "Deliverance" reference - and if you really played the banjo, you would know that the tune is actually "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" written by Lester Flatt as played by him and Earl Scruggs.

Earl recently played the NC State Fair and I must say, he has lost little, if any skill over the years. The three finger roll flows like water off his fingertips. He plays the banjo more naturally than most people can sing.
Helluva man.
