Comms Gear

I'm looking for a new set of hearing protection with comms capability. I'm leaning towards the Peltor COMTAC II. Radio is a Motorola Pro5150. Anyone have any other ideas or know where to get the best price?

Not to throw a red herring, but check out the Sordin SSPs, they are pretty nice, MM reviewed them on his site as well.

Have you done business with Tactical Command Boss?

They also have the COMTAC IIs. Looks like they have a bit of everything.

I talked with the owner about a set of the Sordins, but decided to use what we were issued instead. I definitely lik the Sordins over the Peltors.

IIRC, Military Moron knows them and their products pretty well.

They do have a wide variety of products and the expertise that goes with them. I would feel safe buying from TCI.

I love my Sordin SSPs. MM's review is what led me to make the choice, and I haven't been disappointed. Both the sound dampening and amplification work great, even indoors with rifle fire. They are also lower profile than I was expecting, and much more comfortable than the Peltors.
