Not a book a movie Last Samurai

I laughed, I cried, I really liked it. Very good depiction of the warrior ethos, especially in the final battle. No sex - a welcome change. Two thumbs up.

I had avoided this one for a long time becaue I'm not a Cruise fan, but found myself bored on a weekend at Bragg and drug myself into the theatre.....

I own a copy now, Great movie

I was like mffjm in that I avoided it for quite a while b/c of Cruise, but I finally rented it a couple weeks ago and was impressed. Of course, I ruined the feel-good by watching the extras on the DVD and listening to Cruise talk about the connection he felt to Bushido and the warrior culture...that little ego whore that he is.

You guys don't understand Hollywood. Lots of relationships for publicity. Gay men and lesbians getting married and having kids together. It is considered normal here. LOL
