Joe,
Nice looking rifle! I've had the KX3 on my .308 SBR for a little over a year now and will go a different way next time for several reasons.
First, it is not a flash hider. My rifle still resembles a flame thrower in low light.
Second, it is not a compensator. It actually increases felt recoil a bit!
Third, it is long and heavy. It will change the balance and handling of your weapon.
Fourth, you are likely to be confused with someone from barf.com.
On the positive side, the "flaming pig" looks cool. Also, by directing all of the blast forward, it is easier on shooters to your left and right in close quarters.
The last statement has dubious value, though. I spent two days on the line next to an SF medic who was shooting a 7.5" upper w/ A2 flashhider - close quarters, low light, you name it. It was really not that bad. I think that people whine too much. It didn't hurt me and didn't affect my shooting, either. I was more worried about him catching fire from the flames leaping out of the ejection port.
My next shorty is getting a PWS FSC556. It will control both flash and recoil without changing my weapon's balance. I know that some here have played with them already.
