Hello, I am 24 years old and currently an E-4 in the National Guard as a 13M. I am getting the necessary paperwork together to attend the next possible SFRE. I have been actively looking through these forums for the last couple of months to gain any insight possible. Thanks for all the great information. The only roadblock I have hit is that A/20/20th SFG has moved locations. However, it is not much farther of a distance for me, and if selected and I make through the course, I plan on moving.

Hello, first of all thank you for maintaining this source of information for all those who are interested. I am a 25 year old from Florida. I am definitely signing up in the next couple of months; I am just making sure I meet all the set medical requirements to sign 18x.

At work finally posting where im supposed to. .
Names Angel 32 yrs old.. always had the idea of joining The U.S Military. . I can always recall a memory from child hood where im playing a soldier. I actually have a self cartoon portrait at age 5 where i was drawn as "Commando" (Arnold S.). So when i came to age 18 ive just finished winning all American honors in wrestling by winning a state tittle. I was so focus on wrestling, that i really never thought of whats next? So i started BJJ, Boxing, Muy thai. Went to a community collage took 14 units a year dropped out at 72 units. This whole time(since 18yrs old) ive worked in a wearhouse doing wearhouse work. I must of gone to the recruiter at least 3 times by the age of 25. At 26 i went took the math reading ect. And scored an 88. Finally thinking im joining. I was going army, and felt that when i go in im going "HAM". About 2 weeks later i have an mma bout. Going to fight another guy from another gym. The weekend before my fight.. i go out on my motorcycle to join my brother at a comedy show down the street. I never made it home untill a month later. I was hit by a drunk driver spent a month getting surgeries and healing up at the hospital. It took its toll, but it never beat me. I grew out of it a better person in my opinion. So now im here been training for about 8 months trying to get back in shape. Wishing im not still dreaming of joining when im 35. So The time is now.. my plan is to start studying for the asvab test and get in physical shape. To past sfas.. im just hoping i get a shot.. so as for now im just a Fan Boy .. getting a few things together before i go to the recruiter. So thats me

Introduction

Hey all,

I don't have too much to say. The name's Kyle, and I've always wanted to serve my country. However, I believe that war isn't just about taking heads, and I believe that the Green Berets understand this better than anyone. I strive to become a Medical Sergeant, because I know that saving lives is just as important as taking them. I've got a hell of a lot to learn, and a hell of a lot of training to get done. Next year when I'm 20, I'll fight tooth and nail for the green beret. If I fall short, I'll get back up and fight again! I'm using this forum to learn as much as I can about the Quiet Professionals' way of life.

See you on the forums,

Hello,

My name is Cade, I am 18 and a senior in high school. I am going to college next year but I am undecided on my major. The reason that I'm here on this forum is because I plan to join the Army after I graduate college and I really appreciate the advice and information here.

Thank you,

Cade

How's it goin', y'all. I'm a former Avionics Mechanic, now contracted with ROTC. My intent is to learn all I can about the profession in order to help me make a branch decision. As of right now, I'm looking at Infantry, because I believe the knowledge and skills one develops as an 11A would be beneficial both during selection/Q course and as an 18A. I look forward to perusing the forums and getting engaged with you all. Have a good one!

I am a civilian and a contractor looking to learn as much as I can here. This is an amazing resource. I had been interested in the NG for some time but may have missed the age cutoff.

My name is Jared, 26 y.o. Current member of the MI National Guard. Had aspirations for a long time to do work for an SF type organization. Don't come from a mil background so this was a new adventure for both me and my family. Since I joined the Army in '13, I latched on to what they had to offer. I spent lots of free time during basic/AIT learning about the Army and their special forces groups. I have since figured out how this whole Army thing works (or at least think I have) and I am currently attempting to find an SFRE course through 20th group in IL to give my shot at joining the SF community. Nothing would give me more quiet pride and a feeling of service than to join something like this. I finally feel like I had a goal to reach for and I am looking forward to what the future has in store for me.

Been a member on here for a little while absorbing the info I can get and would like to get my intro in.

Additionally, if anyone is in the MI area who could assist me on my journey, I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get.

My name is Larry. Served in the Army back in the 70's. Was in Co A, 1st Bn, 7th SFG(A). Was an 11B back in those days. Got out in late 1974, so that makes me kind of an old guy now. Very proud of my service and to all those who have/are serving. Joined this board to keep up with the goings on in the SF community. DOL.
