Blanco blocked Red Cross!
Fox News' Major Garrett is reporting that the Red Cross was kept from delivering pre-positioned food and water to the Super Dome and Convention Center in the immediate aftermath of the storm. Reportedly Blanco did not want the supplies to be delivered as it would cause the Super Dome to become a magnet for people. This would interfere with attempts to get people to leave the city.
I guess I just don't knwo how to think outside the box...........as this seems incredibly stupid to me!

Uncle Rush went into some detail on this topic during his show today.
I thought this was all Presidents Bush's fault.

A local couple that managed to get out of NO last wednesday were on the local talk radio for an hour discussing their ordeal. The best line from the wife was:
"Blimbo Blanco must be double-dosing on the anti-depressants because she has no grasp on reality".
1 ) They were staying at the Marriott. The CEO of Marriott sent buses to pick up the tourists trapped at the hotel. Blanco refused to let the buses enter the city.
2) Relatives outside NO were trying to get answers and spoke to someone at the Red Cross; they were told Blanco would not authorise their entry.
3) They mentioned the "magnet" theory as well.

This Blanco may wind up getting indicted for malfeasance over this entire ordeal. All the horror stories are coming out on her today on Conservative Talk Radio. Shawn Hannity opened his show about her today. Will be interested in what occurs on TV tonight on MSNBC and FOX regarding her leadership.

I was hoping that she would go on a road trip with Teddy Kennedy, and let him drive.

I just arrived back in the New Orleans area. I evac'd to Dallas. All I heard in Dallas via the national media was how the feds dropped the ball. Once back in the AO, I have heard nothing but praise for the Red Cross, FEMA, National guard and etc. The State refused help from the get go. Blanco did not want to relequish control to any other authority. She has screwed up so badly down here that she is not doing any more press confrences due to the "hard questions" being asked about her actions before and after the event. Mayor Nagin who wants mandatory removal everlyone from the city has zero support from the governor. Only she can make it declare martial law and force the hold outs from leaving the city. She has been at odds with both city, parish and national leaders. The blame game starts here at home. And on a further note, the few idots and criminals that are portrayed on the media is just a very, very small percentage of citizens down here. I just wish they had capped a few more. And left the bodies to rot in the streets.

I want them to rebuild New Orleans so that the citizens can exact their revenge by throwing them out of the office.....hopefully on the rails of an impeachment.

Coming from Boston I unfortunatley know that maneuver only works with hookers and Ted seems to always come out ok.

TR, that would be good. Maybe we could fit Michael Moore, Barbara Streisand, Martin Sheen, Jesse Jackson, and of course Hillary in there too. Maybe go all the way and get a 40 PAX bus and load up even more politicians and "actors."
They could hear Teddy sing songs from his new album with such hits as:
"loaded and bloated"
"gun control"
"I'm drivin' tonight"
"Do as I say" (not as I do)
"Show me the money"
"Priviledged son"
"Chappaquiddick on my mind" *
*bonus track
